Get up kids is getting frupping huge..they're packing like 1200 seat venues and what not..they had to turn people away for the first time at the stalag the last time they played(well maybe not the first time..but definately a rare occurance.) I think they can swing a tour bus. And finally Get Up Kids are on an indie label. ok first off i'm tired. forgive me if i'm mean. these are only my opinions. a) at the drive in are great. live they are even more amazing. i caught them last night at U of I and they were pretty damn amazing live, probably one of the best live shows i've ever seen. the lead singer was all over the place, just tearing everything up. it was so cool. the one drawback was that it seemed everyone in the audience had come to see the get up kids and so no one was really getting into at the drive in, which totally sucked. i'm sorry, but after at the drive in, how can anyone stay around to sit through the get up kids? we left. c) if you wanna talk about "selling out" in terms of at the drive in, look at the get up kids. they had a FREAKING TOUR BUS. that is ridiculous. you'd think they WERE the backstreet boys. hahahatheir tour bus is HUGE! that was s funny! after the show we were outside and i saw some kids putting at the drive in stickers all over their bus. of course, i have no idea who these kids were... d) the get up kids are really lame. i've seen them twice and each time i've wanted to wretch. sickenly sweet songs poorly executed as an audience pack full of boys clutch their 3s with one hand and point with the other. yuck. i agree with this statement! was anyone at the antartica show at the fireside in chicago on friday??? THEY *TOTALLY* BLEW ME AWAY!! my god, they were *so good* live...they turned off all the main lights and had blue and red ones instead...it was so nice! god, they just leave me speechless!@!@! they're... just...so...GOOD... that gloria whatever band that's made up of *three* of ex-mineral band members played after them and i didn't like them at allthe only difference between mineral and this gloria band is that they have a keyboard now. argh. and i have a questionpedro the lion is playing here soon and a BUNCH of people i know aren't going to the show because he's apparently homophobic and very narrow minded...what do ppl think about that? personally i love his music, but i've been hearing a lot about this. how true is it? ~jenny talking shit about a pretty sunset
