how to make an Alias?

Hi list

How do i make an alias on my webserver?

i have images on my machine located in /home/me/images/. i would like to be 
able to access them on /home/httpd/htdocs/

i have tried this:
Alias /home/me/images/ /home/httpd/htdocs/cctvimages/
i have mkdir cctvimages in /home/http/htdocs/cctvimages

Problem with PHP install: Invalid MySQL directory

hi

i downloaded Apache-1.3.27 on my Red hat machine and it all worked 
perfectly. now i am tryin to set PHP but i got a error saying

configure: error: Invalid MySQL directory - unable to find libmysqlclient.a 
or libmysqlclient.so.

any ideas.

hi

its ok i have solved it.
i needed to add in the configuration command where mysql was, hence
--with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql/

i downloaded Apache-1.3.27 on my Red hat machine and it all worked

I downloaded MySQL automatically with Red Hat 8, but when i type locate 
libmysqlclient.so, i get 2 files, which dont seem to be the right files. Do 
i need to download more packages?

any ideas.

Problems installing Apache (./configure)

Hi

I am tryin to set Apache to run with Perl, but before that i am tryin to 
download Apache on a fresh downlaod of Red Hat 8 Linux.

this is the steps i am following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] src]# cd /usr/src

[EMAIL PROTECTED] src]# wget 
http://httpd.apache.org/dist/httpd/apache_1.3.19.tar.gz

[EMAIL PROTECTED] src]# tar -xzvf apache_1.3.19.tar.gz

[EMAIL PROTECTED] src]# cd apache_1.3.19

[EMAIL PROTECTED] src]# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache --enable-module=so

[EMAIL PROTECTED] src]# cd apache_1.3.27
[EMAIL PROTECTED] apache_1.3.27]# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache 
--enable-module=so

Configuring for Apache, Version 1.3.27
+ using installation path layout: Apache (config.layout)
Creating Makefile
Creating Configuration.apaci in src
Creating Makefile in src
+ configured for Linux platform
Error: could not find any of these C compilers
anywhere in your PATH:  gcc cc acc c89
Configure terminated
Could Some one please help me.
I have installed Red Hat 8 with MySQL set up automatically.
