I'm sure that the BSD users amoungst you have all done it 101 times. Nope, ports only supports mod_perl as a DSO. You'd have to mess with www/apache13-ssl/Makefile to do otherwise. It might not be too difficult to do that, however. You'd have to build mod_perl from inside apache rather than the other way around though, I suspect (without doing major contortions, anyway). The alternative is to use something like apache toolbox[1] to install it all in one go. If you want to be sneaky, you can always get a list of files post-install and run it through pkg_create to fake up a package.
