Problem compiling mod_perl 1.24 on Solaris 2.6

I am running mod_perl 1.24, Perl 5.6.0, Apache 1.3.12, Solaris 2.6 Perl Makefile.PL with options runs successfully. When I run make, I get output nearly identical to that reported by Steve Hay.
