Trouble shooting, yeah but only if you've questions about
the german tax system (Daniela is a tax assistant) ;) So perhaps we
should demand tax for using modssl, let modssl-users evolve into
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and this way create the first real two-theme

MS SGC and sgcinst.exe

2000-02-23 Thread Michael Pye

Hi all,

Apologies for a slightly off-topic posting, if anyone can direct me to
a more appropriate forum, please do so.

I'm attempting to install a Verisign Global ID, onto MS IIS with SGC.
I have SGC enabled and am now using sgcinst.exe to install the
Verisign intermediate chain file.

Whenever I run sgcinst.exe against the file I constantly get "Error in
parsing certificate data: 80093005". Any ideas why this is ? Any
instructions anywhere for using sgcinst.exe to install the
intermediate chain file certificate ?

Thanks,

If this happens, you've not successfully applied mod_ssl to the Apache
source tree. Start from scratch, follow the INSTALL documents steps very
closely, watch for errors and not proceed if any occur.

I guess you fiddled around while testing and messed up something.
Usually this happens if you re-create the server certificate/key
pair while the browser still has some information about the old
certificate/key pair cached. Try to flush your browser caches by
removing any remembered server certs and restart your browser.

Have you just "restarted" Apache or stopped and started it? Because this
can happen if you add a certificate/key pair to a new virtual host and
just restart the server.

Yes, this is only available with the still pending SSLProxy*
functionality C2Net contributed. This is already ready but lacks
documentation since many months now. I append you patch which shows
you our latest state and allows you to test the enhanced HTTPS
proxy support. If someone contributes documentation for this stuff
it can immediately be released (just perhaps still wrapped with
SSL_EXPERIMENTAL).

> 3) Every request performs a full SSL handshake, even when to the same host.

Hmmm... yes, but this cannot be changed. Because the functionality
depends on mod_proxy and mod_proxy does not suppot keep-alive
connections and similar SSL optimizations which could be used.

I'm not a Java and Servlet guy, but you can access this AFAIK. The
actual Java construct to retrieve this information was posted to this
list some months ago. Look in the modssl-users mailing list archives for
the code.

I can't "make certificate".

2000-02-23 Thread qiao

I downloaded mod_ssl and apache. When I followed the instructure of the file
"INSTALL" to install mod_ssl and apache, I couldn't "make certificate".This
is error message:

hostname:/usr/src/apache_1.3.11# make certificate
make: *** No rule to make target `certificate'. Stop.

Where can I get the ruler of certificate?

Problem with mod_php3 and mod_ssl

2000-02-23 Thread suporte

Hi all,

I'm having the following problem:

- running apache-1.3.11, mod_ssl-2.5.0, php3-3.0.14-2.
- I installed apache+mod_ssl and it worked fine.
- I installed php3 and now it doesn't work.
- this is as far as I could go.
- if I disabled mod_ssl, it works fine. I can access MySQL and Postgres.
- if I enable ( include AddModule ) mod_ssl ( even though is build-in into
  httpd ) it doesn't work.
- if I enable SSL and disable PHP3, it doesn't work as well. ( could the
installation of PHP3 oy MySQL, screwed up some library or configuration
??? )
- the biggest difference, it that it looks like the second scenario can't
spawn children process. Running a ps -ax I just see one httpd process.
- I tried to recompile PHP3 without the pthread option, but it doesn't work.
Now it looks like more of a particular problem with mod_ssl.

I know it has been sonehow discussed through the list, but I didn't
find anything close enough...

Thanks in advance
Renato - Brasil.

Certificates

2000-02-23 Thread Augusto Alvares

Hi. I need some help about servlets and mod_ssl.
I'm trying to establish a secure connection between a
servlet (GenericServlet) and Apache (with Apache
JServ). If the certificate authentication has been
correctly, I need the client certificate to be
received in the ServletRequest of my servlet (or
something like that which I could access to client
DN).

Thanks, y un saludo a todos.
