You can be assured that nobody on the modssl list is actually spamming you. You'll understand about forgery once spam is sent out forged so it looks like you sent it. Re: is this list still alive?
The list never looked dead to me so far, although it is low trafic from time to time. Two hints about this list
Just a two hints about this list, because people asked me more than once the last week about it: 1. You know that only subscribers can post because of the spamming services. So, when you want to post from a different address this means Majordomo has to know your address. But you don't have to take care of this yourself. When a mail to sw-mod-ssl is bounced to me (the list admin) by Majordomo I always look at it manually. When it's really a mod_ssl related mail, I append the posters address automatically to the Majordomo alias list and then unbounce the mail back to sw-mod-ssl. This way your mail occurs and all subsequent posts from this address are allowed, too. You never noticed this in the past because I do it in the background. All you have to remember is that you don't have to do anything yourself here. Just post, anything else is done by Majordomo or me. It's a little bit more work for me, but this way we don't get nerved by spam. 2. People wanted to know how large the audience is on sw-mod-ssl. I know that you cannot find out this yourself because the `who sw-mod-ssl' Majordomo command is disabled for this list. But that's only because of spamming services. The number of subscribers is not a secret, of course. So here it is: currently there are 238 subscribers on sw-mod-ssl. Greetings, Ralf S.
