dtlog error

2011-02-01 Thread ad...@jack-clan.nl

Hi,

*I installed mon in ubuntu server lts 10.04, i have it running fine, but
i can't get to the downtime log:*

Could not list downtime log on mon server "localhost": 520 list dtlog
error, dtlogging is not turned on (perhaps you don't have permissions in
auth.cf?)

*I checked auth.cf and have set all the rights to all:
*
ack:all
checkauth:  all
clear:  all
disable:all
dump:   all
enable: all
get:all
list:   all
loadstate:  all
protid: all
quit:   all
reload: all
reset:  all
savestate:  all
servertime: all
set:all
start:  all
stop:   all
term:   all
test:   all
allversion: all

*because the error mentions localhost, and i connect from other ip in
lan, i tried it locally with lynx, but it still gives the same error
I chmodded 755 directory /var/log/mon, but still it gives me the same
error.

Here is my mon.cf:*

alertdir= /usr/lib/mon/alert.d
mondir  = /usr/lib/mon/mon.d
logdir  = /var/log/mon
historicfile= /var/log/mon/history.log
maxprocs= 20
histlength  = 100
randstart   = 60s
dtlogging   = yes
dtlogfile   = /var/log/mon/dtlog
randstart   = 600s

*Could someone take a look at it, and point me in the right direction?
Or could running mon in a virtual machine be the problem, i use vmware
for virtualisation.

thank you,

Tomas

Confirmed (but I'd say greater than 40 seconds here, at present, before
it returns)

What ever happened to good 'ol HTML

Same Here, its been crawling ever since it was switched to https.
I mean, seriously, are the wiki contents that classified? ;-)
If we needed an encrypted data stream, we could just read some of the mon code
in plain text.

Google "firesheep". Also, the last machine I saw https overhead cause
significant performance issues on was a Sparc IPX; I have to think it's a
bit more involved than that.
