thanks duncan. redcarpet was not working for me, it kept hanging while
downloading the mirror list or something and when i tried explicitly giving it
a site then it hung on the ximian connector download (although i had not
selected that component to be downloaded at all...)

anyway, for the mandrake users like me who were having trouble finding the
packages (or having trouble with readcarpet), just download them directly from
the redcarpet ftp or a mirror (i ended up getting them here):

http://open-systems.ufl.edu/mirrors/rsync.ximian.com/ximian-evolution/mandrake-91-i586/

after that, everything went fine and monodoc runs.

The problem is that the XML datasource is not completed, AFAIR.

You can use the SQLite provider, which is lightweight.

I am trying to do an application with mono that stores its information in a database.  As it is not going to be too much information, and a real database is too complicated to install for the final user, I wanted to try the XML datasource that comes with gnome-db.

The problem is that I do not know how to create a table there.  Mergeant doesn't allow it.

Does anyone have a hint?

Thanks

The mono debugger is currently broken in cvs, and you won't be able to
compile any released version of it with mono cvs.

[Mono-list] mono debugger

2003-07-01 Thread Herscovici, Avi
I get compile errors with the latest CVS version of the debugger (I used to
get missing binutils error, but i made soft links to the libraries with the
version number and that seemed to fix it). Anyone know a version of the
debugger that compiles and runs well with the latest CVS of mono? I tried
updating garbage collection separately (as stated in a readme for version
.3) but it gave me an error in configure that says that GC is included in
mono and should not be compiled separately anymore. Any help appreciated.

[Mono-list] Mono for OS/X

2003-07-01 Thread Steve Mentzer

Has anyone been able to get the latest (.24/.25) builds of MONO to run
successfully under OS/X?

I haven't been able to get a working version running in a very long time
(since .22(3) perhaps).

I get the infamous 'bus error' or a infinite hang pegging both CPU's at
100%.

Aside from having to disable mini, everything appears to build and deploy
correctly.

Feedback would be appreciated...

Try the following patch. BTW: you should really avoid automake 1.5: it's
broken. Use 1.4-p6 or the latest (1.7).

Running libtoolize...
Running aclocal ...
Running autoheader...
Running automake --gnu ...

automake-1.5: mono/mini/Makefile.am: warning: automake does not support

**Error**: automake failed.

Any idea how to fix this ?

Thanks,

I greatly appreciate the offer, and I will certainly take all the help I
can get. Valid HTML/XHTML support is something that I have been hoping
for for quite some time.

Once I get a class in a semi-working state, is there a procedure or
place I should send it? I assume that I should post code to the
mono-devel-list, but I wanted to make sure before I sent out any emails.

You need to install a new machine.config (it's in mono/data directory)
to $PREFIX/etc/mono.

Right now you can register schema - handler associations in
machine.config file and the default ones are http/https -
System.Net.HttpRequestCreator and file - FileWebRequestCreator.
