Re: [Mono-list] ASP.NET MVC
I am interested in running ASP.NET MVC applications on linux. I was under the impression that the ASP.NET MVC license prohibits me from doing it. I think this is still the verbiage: Platform Limitation - The Additional Use Rights extend only to the software or permitted derivative works that you create that run on a Microsoft Windows operating system product. Could someone enlighten me on how you'll support ASP.NET MVC with this license? Will it just be compatible apis? Simple namespace changing? Re: [Mono-list] Composit UI Application Block and Mono
Scott Guthrie? I'll put in my word for changing the license to SharedSource but in my experience Microsoft has never been very good at listening to their forums / users :) Do you think that with Novell's recent deal with Microsoft that there could be some extra leverage to get this to happen? We've been spending lots of time on the CAB and I don't know how I built apps without some kind of plugin/composite framework before. The other option is to have the MonoDevelop add-in architecture be a seperate enough that people can build plugin architectures with it rather than something like CAB. The nice thing about CAB is ObjectBuilder and it's dependency injection On 1/3/07, Miguel de Icaza [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello, :( The old problem of the licenses… I once spoke with Scott about this issue (it was related to the license chosen for the starter kits) and he said that it was probably an oversight and that they would not mind changing the license. You could try contacting them and asking them to use the other SharedSousrce license that does not include the Only on Windows clause. [Mono-list] libgaim
Has anyone see C# bindings for libgaim? If there aren't bindings would libgaim be the preferred route to provide IM network services to .NET applications (all networks or at least the most important types xmpp / oscar / msn / yahoo). ___ Mono-list maillist - Mono-list@lists.ximian.com http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/mono-list
[Mono-list] Apache Conf API
I am not sure this is exactly the best place to ask this but ultimately I'd like to find a C# Apache configuration API suitable for programatically creating a website and configuring that website. Is there such an API out there for C# or for some other language (Java/C)? ___ Mono-list maillist - Mono-list@lists.ximian.com http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/mono-list
[Mono-list] Is mod_mono and ASP.NET production ready?
This is not a troll. I am interested in knowing people's experience with ASP.NET applications running with mod_mono under Apache. Is this really production ready? My general sense is that it's not. I am REALLY impressed with the desktop stack Mono offers but haven't really heard of a lot of high end web applications being built on Mono say the way Ruby on Rails is taking off. ___ Mono-list maillist - Mono-list@lists.ximian.com http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/mono-list
[Mono-list] Video Capture in Mono?
I posted this question a while back but I'll try once more... is there anything like a Video4Linux C# wrapper or other Video Capture libraries for mono? If there isn't what would be the best path for implementing this...
