Re: [Mono-list] mod_mono install
Hello Jeremy. It is possible to change the destination of those files. But the first problem we'll have to look at, is if you have the permissions to edit in the Apache configuration files. If you haven't it is impossible to make mod_mono work. Re: [Mono-list] mod_mono install
Thanks Janus, I only have permissions on '/home/jeremyvaught/' However, I have been in contact with the tech support, and I may be able to have them make some configuration changes, if I know exactly what changes need to be made. I don't suppose this is possible, but can I install my a second instance of apache in my directory? Would this work as a work-around? Now that I think about it more, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work. :-( Thanks again for your help, Jeremy Vaught ImBloggingThis.org On Fri, 2005-08-26 at 09:06 +0200, Janus Tougaard wrote: Hello Jeremy. Re: [Mono-list] mod_mono install
Well i think it would be a quite difficult operation, maby impossible. You can't make any Apache configuration your self from that directory, have you told this guy from the hosting company that you are planing to load a new module on their server? - Usaly this aint possible, they wont. Also keep in mind that you'll have to install mono and XSP, have you done that on the hosting server? Have you tried to ask them if they just can put mono on it the real way? [Mono-list] mod_mono install question
I've been developing ASP.NET apps in C# using M$ Visual Studio 2003 for some time now, but am just getting started using Mono 1.1.8.1on SuSE Pro9.2 and Red HatEnterprise AS 4.0with Apache httpd 2.0.54. The Mono source was no prob to d/l, compile and install, but the Mono Apache module is a mystery to me. The link on Apache takes me to a CVS branch, but I can find nothing to download (granted, I'm also a CVS newbie). A clue would be appreciated. thx, ~mark This email and any file transmitted with it may be confidential and is intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed. I had a similar problem, for me it was that both #include mpm.h #include apr.h Were on the same line, I ended up editing (adding a line break) configure, and configure.in to fix it Hope this helps, Luke Stephenson LSCS Computer Systems Engineering [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Steve Deobald Sent: Tuesday, February 10, 2004 12:16 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Mono-list] mod_mono install troubles Hey everybody, I'm running a Debian-sid server and having some serious difficulty getting mod_mono installed. First off, I grabbed all of the mono packages from the SID package tree (0.29.99) and mod_mono/xsp from go-mono.com. The SID packages and xsp worked well, mod_mono did not. The end of a `./configure' informs me I'm running Apache 1.3, which is wrong. Fighting with this for a while led me to asking many questions in #mono and picking apart `configure' with some help. I found that configure attempts to compile the following code: #include mpm.h #include apr.h int main () { apr_byte_t b; ; return 0; } After updating to a cvs version of mono on a recommendation, I attempted to compile this with `gcc test_mod.c -I/usr/include/apache2 -I/usr/include/apr-0' and got this back: In file included from /usr/include/apache2/mpm.h:58, from test_mod.c:1: /usr/include/apache2/scoreboard.h:153: error: field `times' has incomplete type /usr/include/apache2/scoreboard.h:194: error: parse error before request_rec /usr/include/apache2/scoreboard.h:206: error: parse error before request_rec /usr/include/apache2/scoreboard.h:208: error: parse error before request_rec ...at this point I figure I'm in over my head and I'm doing more work than is necessary. (Usually the case.) If anyone has any recommendations, I'd love to hear you. [Mono-list] mod_mono install problem
Hi, I tried following the installation instruction in the apacheworld website and I was able to compile mod_mono but I got a different result/behavior. For example, the libmod_mono.so wasn't created after compilation. Instead, mod_mono.so was created. And the location of the mod_mono.so was in /usr/.../.../apache/modules and not in /usr/.../.../apache/lib Below is the commands I did: #tar xvfz httpd-2.0.44.tar.gz #cd httpd-2.0.44 #./configure --prefix=/usr/.../.../apache --enable-so #make #make install #tar xvfz mod_mono*.tgz #cd mod_mono* #PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/.../.../lib/pkgconfig/ #./configure --with-apxs=/usr/.../.../apache/bin/apxs --with-crosspkgdir=/usr/.../.../lib/pkgconfig/ #make #make install I am just wondering if I missed anything.
