RE: [Mono-list] monodevelop & Mac OS X

2004-10-08 Thread gennady wexler
I get this error too if I compile mono from cvs or fink. however if I
install mono macos x binary from mono website, compile monodevelop against
that - everything seems to work.

there's something missing from custom installs of mono on mac os x.

I recently installed GTK# (without that installer from mono) and it
was a
real pain, I had to install all sorts of GNU DLLs on my Windows machine
one-by-one. Luckily the instructions on what you need to install are
good at
the GTK# website

Yeah, I found it (shortly after posting to the list... heh). I'm
happy to report that everything (including the new monodevelop) builds
and upgrades nicely on Mac OS X 10.3. I released updated Fink
packages for everything today. Other than XSP crashing on some of the
examples (for which I still need to put together useful bug reports),
things seem to be doing pretty well.

I had the same problem in my SuSE Linux 9.1, i fix it as follow:
in the /usr/lib/mono/gac you'll find some other dirs, each one has a dir named like this "1.0.0.0__35e10195dab3c99f" (or something similar :) inside you'll find a .dll and a .dll.conf file. in the .dll.conf file there is a sort of .dll -> .so mapping, like this one:

so there should be one .dll.conf file making reference to a wrong .so file. the problem is I tried to find a gtksharpglue reference in my mono installation and I can't find it
hope may help...
