[MOPO] Why EBAY rules

2005-11-29 Thread Rubenstein, Ira
Title: Message

I think this sums it
up.   When you are more than DOUBLE in terms of unique visitors,
you dominate everything.    (Just like WAL-MART does for physical
DVD sales in their stores.  They DOMINATE with foot traffic.)

Not that I am a huge
EBAY fan,   but this paints the picture on why it will take a GOOGLE
to give EBAY any real run for it's market.   They dominate with unique
visitors too.   11.7 million people went to Ebay on
Monday.   WOW!

Ira

EBay traffic leads online
shopping sitesTuesday November 29, 10:24 pm ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Online auction site eBay Inc. (NasdaqNM:EBAY - News) had double the traffic of
Amazon.com Inc. (NasdaqNM:AMZN -
News), its closest competitor
among U.S. Web retail sites, at the start of the holiday online shopping season,
according to data released on Tuesday.
Nielsen//NetRatings, which tracks traffic to more than 100 retail Web sites,
said eBay had 11.7 million unique visitors and Amazon 5.6 million on "Cyber
Monday," when Internet shopping gets a boost as Americans return to work in
force after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and "Black Friday," the traditional
start to the shopping season in stores.

I hope you used those handy sticky strips on the USPS box to hold the poster in
place. Hate for it to get damaged in shipping.

Jeff,

I'd feel much more comfortable if you would fly the poster to me in
person. Bring no one. Upon arrival in St. Louis, please drive 3 1/2
hours S.E. to West Plains. From there, turn down ZZ highway (it exists)
then drive for about 12 miles, the road will eventually turn to a dirt
road with creepy trees hanging over. Don't pay the owl any mind, just
keep driving. You didn't forget the Metropolis poster, did you? Good,
good. Now keep driving another mile. Take a right at the detour sign.
Don't mind the toothless guy in overalls with a Bowie knife...just keep
driving. Now why is there Spanish moss over a pond in Missouri? I
don't know, but don't worry about it. Everything will be just fine.
Ahh...you've reached the suspiciously Southern dilapidated plantation
home...in Missouri. Ignore the blood stained chopping block...that's
for the...um...pigs. Yes! That's it! Pigs! Wait - what's tha---
