Re: [MOPO] Fs:65+ posters unused from the 60-70's 699 free shipping and insur...

2008-12-24 Thread Claude Litton
I don't think the posters will sell and even if they do, Mr. Crews will only
make a profit of $20.
I suggest Bruce H. send an offer to his email club and MOPO members. It
will be entitled "Guess the name of the Marx Bros. Mystery poster". After the
auction ends, Mr. Crews can email us a picture of the poster and Bruce will
name the winner. If more than one who guessed the name of the mystery poster
Bruce will pick the name out of a hat. Each entrant must pledge to send $1 to
Mr. Crews. With enough participants he can clear thousands of dollars. Mr.
Crews can give the winner the posters that did not sell. For running the
raffle, Bruce gets the mystery poster.

[MOPO] Dear Santa...

2008-12-24 Thread Reel Classics Posters

Dear Santa,

For almost six months now I've been looking for this Italian 2-sheet
from SENSO (1954) featuring Alida Valli:

http://reelclassics.com/Actresses/Valli/valli_senso_poster.jpg

I've sent emails in three languages to over sixty poster dealers
around the world, but the only two people I've found who have one
aren't willing to part with theirs, and most of the others didn't reply at all.

As well behaved as I've been this year, I realize that with the
credit crisis and all, a present like this is probably beyond your
budget. But if you'll just help me find one, I'll figure out how to
pay for it.

If you would, as you drop down chimneys into houses tonight, take a
quick glance around on the living room walls and see if you spot one
of these SENSO posters. If you do, please note the name and address
of the owner for me. (A little insight into "naughty or nice" would
also be helpful in my future negotiations, but it's not absolutely necessary.)

Best wishes for safe and efficient travels tonight, and I hope Donner
is feeling better soon.

Re: [MOPO] Fs:65+ posters unused from the 60-70's 699 free shipping and insur...

2008-12-24 Thread Richard Auras
With 8 watchers it won't be a bidding war since it is not an auction but is a
fixed price sale.  Now it might be a race at the end for who hits the buy it
now button but can't go higher than the $699 sale price.   It has been
interesting each day to see what the new lowest price would be on the lot and
really shows that ebay is not the killer draw it used to be.  I am sure a while
ago this would have gone higher.

I wish Clinton luck with these since he has done a lot of emails to get a $20
profit.  (I wonder if that includes ebay & paypal fees)
