[MOPO] Half Sheets Ending tonight SERIALS POSTERS BEGIN

2010-08-25 Thread Richard Halegua Comic Art

Hello Members

First we have a quick note that the current auction of half sheet
posters ends in a few hours.

To see a complete gallery of the posters ending today
http://www.comic-art.com/auctions/99cent/

To go directly to the auctions click here:
http://www.movieposterbid.com/search.asp?nsearch=*comic-art.com*99http://www.movieposterbid.com/search.asp?nsearch=*comic-art.com*
Cents No Reserve weekly Movie Poster Auctions

Second, the all-Serials Auction starts after the Half Sheets end. For
this auction we have one-sheet posters for such titles the western
serial classic Phantom of the West and the science fiction classic,
Lost City. These posters have never been folded and are in fantastic
condition. This auction also has 270 Serial Lobby Cards from the 1920s-1950s.

A preview gallery of the auction is at
http://www.comic-art.com/auctions/99cent_149

Our Coming Schedule:
starting on. we will be auctioning.
September 1, 2010 Serials Special Auction
September 8, 2010 14x36 Inserts
September 15, 2010 Lobby Card Sets
September 22, 2010 Folded One-Sheet Posters
September 29, 2010 Window Cards Special Auction
October 6, 2010 Lobby Card Singles
October 13, 2010 Rolled One-Sheet Posters
October 20, 2010 Halloween Special Auction Part 1
October 27, 2010 Halloween Special Auction Part 2

In further news, MoviePosterBid.com is going to Extended Time Bidding
as a permanent feature. To date, we have only used this feature on
our special auctions like the Serials Auction that starts weds night.
Starting with the Window Card Auction that begins on September 29,
MoviePosterBid.com will have Extended Time Bidding permanently.

We all know that Bruce has utilized this feature for the past year
and a half and it's been working great and it exemplifies the need
for collectors to have a second chance to think about something
they don't want to let slip by. We also know that for the great
number of items - more than 90% - do not get extended by any late
bidding and so it is only likely to affect specific items that
deserve extended bidding.

For the best movie poster values on the internet.. go here!
http://www.movieposterbid.com

thanks
Rich

I've added some posters nobody will want to eBay at prices no one will want
to pay...

Check them out only if you want to complain about such offerings...

Also, ending tomorrow, some rare 78 rpm recordings from the film Week-End in
Havana starring Betty Grable, Carmen Miranda and Cesar Romero... I'm not
sure what their purpose was unless it was to help the performers learn their
lip-synching. They have the Fox logo on them. There can't be too many of
these floating around. Check them out so years from now you can say you saw
them being offered once a long time ago...

I'm pretty sure there are many more google searches under movie poster than
movie paper. Also, it won't mean much to new collectors or people outside the
hobby who may make the occasional purchase. Movie paper is a term used by
people who are already collectors. It's technically correct but, bottom line,
will it bring you more business?

In other words, go right ahead ;-)
