Re: [MOPO] We have gone beyond Buyer Beware to complete Buyer Protection!
ah , a difficult to rate french poster like say for example blow up i guess , a much wanted/sold poster with easily available idenitification , not that difficult to date for a professional movie poster seller , and when you say you don't make nearly as many mistakes as many other auctions , how can you know how many mistakes are being made at other auctions , you pretend you know yours ( but do you know all mistakes you've made since you deal in movie posters ?? ) did you go through , let's say , heritage past auctions and compare the number of mistakes they made with the number you made ?? i can only advice you to use your time more meaningfull in learning about movie posters so you know what you sell , as for as i see you should put up a sign at your site saying , buyer beware , we make quite a bit of mistakes , but should you ever be aware , we'll refund you , even if you only discover in 20 years from nowIt is NOT professional to mis-describe regulary what you sell ... and as far as i know there's quite a bit of sellers / auctionhouses that refund when they make a mistake but they make so few mistakes there's hardly ever reason to yell about their policy ... To: MoPo-L@LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU For years we at eMoviePoster.com have refused to ever hide behind the buyer beware policy that every auction subscribes to, under which auctions are not responsible for anything they sell. Whenever we have discovered we have accidentally mis-described an item (on originality or condition) we have refunded the buyer of that item, EVEN WHEN YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE SALE OCCURRED. We are now making this an official Buyer Warranty so that EVERYONE who buys from us can know of our policy, and know that they never have to worry when they purchase from us, whether it is a one-sheet of the past 20 years that is known to have been reproduced, or a difficult to date French poster, or ANY other item we auction. Now we don't make nearly as many mistakes as many other auctions, but even still, this policy results in our refunding customers for thousands of dollars of items (which we then re-auction correctly described at a huge loss), but we are happy to do so because it gives OUR bidders complete peace of mind when buying from us. Before you buy from any other auction, ask if they will match this warranty in writing. We at eMoviePoster.com are going beyond Buyer Beware to complete Buyer Protection!
