Hi Adrian The ebay seller was posterfinder2003. But I'd caution against even mentioning The Outlaw six-sheet on MOPO! Some of the more delicate flowers here don't like to be reminded of all the obfuscation and chicanery surrounding the only copy known to exist sold by Christies in 2003. It hurts their teeth or something. The promotion that was offerred is not to be confused with the 50 free listings that non store owners get every month. This offer for 50,000 free listings was sent by invitation only ... http://pages.ebay.com/promo/aug2212_AuctionStyle/ Store owners were not eligible. Re: [MOPO] eBay free listings
Its all a bit mystifying. One minute they are encouraging people to open stores, the next they want you to go to auctions. Feedback and ratings don't mean as much as they used to. You now have to prove that you ship within one day and load tracking details if you are to maintain Top Seller status. That way you stay high in the searches but for sellers outside the US it is very difficult to load tracking details because they are not the same as USPS. Bruce made a great decision to leave eBay some years ago. I agree with him that the rules and regulations would make it very difficult for him to operate these days. I feel that eBay could have had far more success by making it easier for sellers to stay with them. A huge number of sellers have transferred their business to websites - many with great success. eBay has lost that market and will never be able to regain it. We all accept that when running your own business we have to live with a certain amount of constraint BUT it seems to me that ebay has become the definition of BIG BROTHER - George Orwell's ultimate 1984. Running your own business is about being Creative, Flexible and Entrepreneurial and it would seem that EBAY is a desert when it comes to those qualities for online vendors. If we want to foster and grow these qualities for our financial gain, the answer must be to leave ebay and work our own websites with the same degree of professionalism that is displayed on ebay but without the standover mystifying tactics. We should still network support this hobby without a monster such as ebay asking you to do a tap dance every day to the tune of ... A. set up a store - pay me some money B. change the rules regularly not in favour of the vendor C.Ignore previous signs of Vendor achievements D.Selectively reward some but not others leaving a bad taste in your most valued. E. Increase the fees you pay to me and make it harder to be found on listing. D. Have a Good Day ! We are giving our very best bonuses ever to our *club https://www.emovieposter.com/club/settings.php*members in these auctions, so * THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME TO GIVE US A TRY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN BUYING FROM US FOR A WHILE, OR IF YOU HAVE NEVER RECEIVED OUR BONUS ITEMS (because we are rapidly running out of them, and THIS mini/major auction may well be the last one with such generous bonuses, as we just won't have them to give in the future). * [image: December 2011 Mini/Major Auction] * Our Fall 2012 Mini/Major Auction* *has an incredible selection of posters and lobby cards (1,862 items in all!), covering all years, genres, and sizes and is being run in four parts:* * Part I http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html (ends Sunday September 2nd):* special collections of 163 Star Wars and 273 Clint Eastwood items * Part II http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/13.html (ends Tuesday September 4th):* 550 linenbacked posters that ship in standard tubes * Part III http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/14.html (ends Thursday September 6th):* 607 rolled posters, folded posters, lobby cards, more that ship in standard tubes or boxes * Part IV Preview http://www.emovieposter.com/unused/2012FallPreviewIV/(runs from Sunday September 2nd to September 9th): * 269 oversized posters of all types that ship in oversized tubes or boxes; these won't online until after the Part I items end (around 5 PM CST) What distinguishes *OUR *Mini/Major Auctions from other major auctions? *Only the lack of any reserves or buyers premiums, honest condition grading, and unenhanced super-sized images!* You will find an amazing supermarket selection of great posters from all years, genres, and countries! *Special bonus offers to the buyers from this special auction* If you are a member of our * weekly e-mail clubhttps://www.emovieposter.com/club/archive.php *, we will be offering our most generous bonus offers ever to those who purchase just *SIX* items from any of the parts combined (you need just purchase a total of *six* items from any of the parts). We will have multiple great offers for those who purchase as few as *six* items, and as many as *ten* or more, and you get these just for being a member of the club (so if you are not already a member, and over *7,531* collectors already are, then why not join today by going to * https://www.emovieposter.com/club/settings.php*). It is fine with us if you join the club just to get the bonuses and then unsubscribe! *Why are there four parts?* Some auctions persist in having a huge number of *VERY* expensive items auctioned in just one day or two days, and that made sense in the days of live auctions and where people had to travel to the auctions. But now that the vast majority of the bidding takes place online, there is no reason to force people to make so many decisions in such a short time. By dividing our items into four parts (over an 7 day closing period) we let our buyers have far more time to decide and what they will bid on. We first did multiple parts in our mini/major auctions several auctions ago, and we received *LOTS* of positive responses from happy bidders who greatly appreciated the added time! Currently, you can also view all of the items in Parts I, II, III (the fourth part will be added on September 2nd, right after the first part ends) at one time at this link: * http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/all.html* (after the items in Part I close on Sunday, you will then be able to view all of the items in Parts II, III, and IV at one time at that same link). If you look at all of the items sorted by highest to lowest, you quickly see all the many rare and wonderful items in the auctions, but if you look at all of the items sorted by lowest to highest, you will quickly be struck by the *HUNDREDS* of items that are currently at a tiny fraction of their ordinary retail price, so there is certainly the potential for

further to my last comments on do you leave ebay or not. I realise there is a commercial decision to be made for some thus dropping tools and leaving may not be practical and EBAY use this to their advantage in terms of the stand over tactics they employ. However Bruce and others obviously felt it was worth the commercial risk to leave and actually try going back to trading that way it once was. Yes we are not all BIG players but we do all have loyal customers . The decision is certainly a commercial one and not easily made without doubt... Re: [MOPO] free ebay listings
It seems and appropriate time to remind everyone, specially eBay sellers, that I do build (and host) websites and have a standing offer for movie poster dealers to build you your own website that can includes a retail shop and for a combination of cash and trade. I also am about to upgrade the servers (faster, bigger...) and also will include international redundant DNS - all that means is I have servers in two different countries (Australia and USA) and if for some reason (hasn't happened yet) one server goes down it will auto switch to the other server so your website continues to run, no interruption to service. Personally, I think if you do sell movie posters on Ebay it is a 'no brainer' to also have your own website/shop as well, just in case in the future it all gets too hard or too much trouble with eBay you can. Here's a couple of movie poster dedicated website we did: www.vintagemovieart.ca and www.vintagemovieposters.com.au I am also in build mode for another (MoPo) dealer (in design mode so not available for public viewing). Besides, because I am a collector I 'get it' when it comes to design and also it's the other reason why I offer a package deal (combination of cash and posters) - I have to feed the habit too.
