I’ll try and post some Wednesday ( I bought a couple just to examine them)The 
forger used multiple stamps.
Most of the cards are just off and pretty easy to tell in person  but good 
enough to fool you in picture. I admit a couple fooled me, but considering the 
source ALL the card have toBe considered tainted.

It has come to my attention that there is a group of apparent horror poster 
fakes being peddled on the market now.

They are usually all “autographed” by the stars. These are all rather obvious 
fraudulent autographs.

The list of titles include the following:

Frankenstein Insert

Dracula Insert

Dracula Half Sheet 

Wolf Man insert 

Wolf Man half sheet

Phantom of the Opera 1925 Insert

Wizard of Oz half sheet

Wizard of Oz Title Card, Balloon Card and Palace Guards scene.

King Kong Lobby with Wray in tree, Kong and Log and Dead Card with 
Brontosaurus, Empire State card

Bride of Frankenstein half sheet style B

Bride of Frankenstein Title lobby and Lobby with Clive, Lancaster, Karloff and 
Thesiger.

Frankenstein Title Card and scene card (cliff)

House of Dracula Title Card and four scene cards

Raven Lobby Card with erroneous image from 1940s release card inserted.

London After Midnight Lobbies (3) one with Chaney as Vampire

Mummy’s Tomb lobby card

The cards seem to all be rubber stamped with some sort of period bogus stamp 
and are on the wrong paper though skillfully done.

So far this is all I am aware of but believe all of these are poor 
reproductions with colors significantly misrepresented.

This is just a partial list!They are all coming out of an estate sale in 
Calumet City IL. There are more fake cards coming up for sale in at least two 
more auctions.The estate people have been contacted, but I go not know their

It’s been my experience that used frames often have minor scuffs and damage 
that make them a liability. I’ve tried selling framed pieces on eBay and it’s 
always always a huge hassle

My understanding was that when they closed all the 
Exchanges and ran the company out of Kansas City they
Ordered everything earlier than 1953 destroyed.
The rest of the posters were shipped back to KC.
Of course a lot of the exchange owners that were now out of
A job just kept the paper instead of dumping it.

In 1999, two friends went into a Nebraska antique shop and found a massive 
collection of letterpress blocks and plates that were used to make 
advertisements for movies in newspapers. They bought the whole shebang for 
$2000 and have spent the last 17 years cataloging and cleaning the 60,000 
plates & blocks. The collection, which spans nearly the entire history of the 
film industry from the silent era to 1984, was recently appraised at ~$10 
million and is available for acquisition.

I had a great show - so did a lot of my dealer friends. I think the new venue 
is great! It's a lot easier to load in, hotel staff were fine, lots more dining 
options and potential to grow.

It is certainly an amazing collection but is it actually the “World’s largest 
Collection of Movie Posters”? I would be interested if members of MoPo might 
have some thoughts on this. Obviously, quality should be taken into account but 
there certainly are some huge collections of movie posters amongst dealers 
around the world, although not sure if any would rival Morris Everett’s 
collection.

Couldn't it also be that the text overrun version is the first printing and the 
one on your wall is the second printing? I don't think the printing of posters 
were following any strict standards. I could easily see the printer being shown 
the problem and fixing it for the second batch of posters. According to my 
sources at the old National Screen, typically only 4 to 6 thousand posters were 
delivered to Kansas City and they would often run out and order more from the 
printer.

 i still need to modify I pay 69 for cable, internet and a landline
 phone..
 I hope to cut it to 30.00/// so we can all tighten the belt and
 change behaviours... unless you have big bux.. then just be prepared
