[MOPO] Problem eBay Bidder
Hi All, A week or two ago Channing mentioned a foreign bidder who won several items and then reneged on paying for some of them. Well, just a head's up that I've been the victim of the same bidder. He goes by the eBay ID of proficient911 and he is located in Greece. He won five or six of my items and then sent a long, flowery apology blaming Greek debt and begging me to excuse him from paying for the most expensive ones. If you're selling on eBay you'd be wise to block him. What is also very curious. i just looked at this proficient911's feedback.. he has 100% positive feedback, for the last 12 months..but thats not the strange part. There is one seller (ebay ID tomvuyo0), that he bought from who left feedback, saying that he never paid for 37 posters, is a deadbeat, and to watch out (and he repeated this warning as his feedback comment about the greek buyer multiple times), yet, for every item, the seller gave him POSITIVE feedback!! that makes no sense. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? Hi Jeff, That is the real TRAGEDY of eBay, at least for sellers. As a seller, you can't leave negative feedback. In fact I had a similar case a while back, when at least a seller could leave neutral feedback. My comments were negative, and I got a nasty note from eBay threatening to take action against me if I do this again. I'm sure now it all makes sense. hi lumi. now that you mention this, i remember that "rule" being put into place by ebay, a while back. So the only recourse is to give a positive mark, then lambast them in the comments box. That is NOT good, for anyone who might simply look at someone's overall score, at a glance, and not actually open and read the comments. thanks for enlightening, lumi. It makes perfect sense to me. A seller can not leave a negative feedback on Ebay for any reason, only a positive feedback. Hence the seller posted the feedback as Positive and then proceeded to trash this buyer in the description section. If ebay catches this (apparently it hasn't) they will delete the feeback entirely and suspend the seller. Ebay offers the seller NO PROTECTION WHATSOEVER, not even the ability to rate a bad transaction.
