Re: [MOPO] Belgian poster authentication.....
My thanks to all who sent me links and information on the Belgians. I highly agree with Tom as to how beautiful and vibrant the art on the Belgian posters are. Mostly what I have aquired from this country was Disney posters and Jerry Lewis ones. I have been a JL collector for years and once I got all the US posters then I expanded to the international ones as I had done with Bruce Lee years earlier. I must say that the country I least liked when it came to Jerry Lewis posters was France. I know his movies are comedies but just could not get into the art style of putting huge distorted heads on top of little bodies on the posters. That's just me though. Well, I guess it is time to unroll the belgians and see if I have original posters or just pretty reproductions drum roll please. Re: [MOPO] Belgian poster authentication.....
Hi Richard, We have a small section on that... I do need to come back and expand it when we get a chance but I hope this can be of help. From the LAMP home page.. click on 'Sites By Country' (it's the first link on the side navbar) Look down the list of countries on the left to 'Belgium' look toward the bottom of the page If you found this section... then that's all that I have online on that topic at the moment. ed Richard Auras wrote: Hi Folks, I am going to pull some posters out from my roll of Belgian movie posters tomorrow. Before offering any of them for sale I want to make sure I know if they are the real deal. I know we have had chat on the group regarding this before but didn't save any of it. Is there a site or location on a site which talks about what to look for to insure it is authentic or original issue? I thought there was something on LAMP but couldn't find anything when going through the site. Any help is greatly appreciated. Hi Richard, I forgot to tell you.. that if you're doing any 40s and 50s pieces with the stamps on them, I've put together a chart analysis of the Belgium stamps to help date the posters. ed Richard Auras wrote: Hi Folks, I am going to pull some posters out from my roll of Belgian movie posters tomorrow.
