For me, reading Charlotte's Web is like visiting an old friend. I tell my students about my third grade teacher reading it to me. Most of my second grade students have seen the cartoon version of the book and many have now seen the movie. We are currently reading it together -- each child has a copy of the book and follow along as I read aloud. One thing I do is to encourage them to use their own schema -- experiences & watching the movies -- to visualize what we are reading or to create movies in their minds.
