A COMMON GALLINULE has been near Long Prairie in Todd County for at

On the 1st, Herb Dingmann found an AMERICAN AVOCET at the Isanti sewage
ponds in Isanti County.

On August 31st, as many as eight SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen in Roseau
County along 440th Avenue, five miles east and about two and a half
miles north of the town of Roseau.

Fall migration is in full swing and most of the expected species have
been seen across much of the state. Recent observations include HORNED
GREBE, NORTHERN GOSHAWK, BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, RUDDY TURNSTONE,

[mou-net] American Golden Plovers in Isanti County

2014-09-05 Thread Williams, Bob
On the way to see the Buff-breasted and Baird's Sandpipers in NW Isanti
County my wife and I found 7 American Golden Plovers in a wet field on the
east side of CR 13 a little south of CR 62(373rd Ave NW). This road runs
along the county line about 3 miles south of where the sandpipers have
been. They were associating with an assemblage of Ring-billed Gulls.

[mou-net] Fall migration/Rice Co.

2014-09-05 Thread
Compared to previous years, August saw a disappointing warbler migration
here in Rice Co. On my blog I posted a photo of a Chestnut-sided Warbler
banded yesterday. Other warblers have included a couple of redstarts and a
Canada Warbler.
