[mou-net] Sabine's Gull in Sibley County

2016-09-25 Thread Williams, Bob
I just located a Sabine's Gull at the Gaylord Sewage Ponds in Sibley County.
It is in the most westerly pond associating with Franklin's and Ring-billed
Gulls.
It has flown several times showing the distinct pattern on the wings.

Re: [mou-net] Sabine's Gull - Jackson Co.

2016-09-25 Thread Danny Akers
Looking at my photos and video when I returned home, it appears 2 juvenile
SABINE'S GULLS were present at the north end of South Heron Lake.

Otherwise, I birded only the access road and largely remained relatively
stationary and conducted a "lake watch" of sorts. Some other highlights:

37 American Golden-Plovers (flyover flock)
7 Bonaparte's Gulls (FOS)
2320 Franklin's Gulls (seems low)
12 Forster's Terns
2 American Pipits
7 species of warblers
---100+ Yellow-rumped, 17 Orange-crowned, Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Nashville, 2
lingering Tennessee, and a very late YELLOW.
2 Le Conte's Sparrows (FOS)
7 Dark-eyed Juncos (FOS)

[mou-net] Cattle Egret--Kandiyohi County

2016-09-25 Thread Josh Wallestad
I found a Cattle Egret mixed in with about 30 Great Egrets around 1:30 this
afternoon. The Egrets were hanging out in some short, green grass along a
drainage ditch of off CR 8. The ditch runs from the spillway off of Little
Kandiyohi Lake along the east-west portion of CR 8.. This is about 4-5
miles south of US Hwy 12. The Egrets were a couple hundred yards south of
CR 8, so a scope is recommended.
