[mou-net] Acadian Flycatcher in Dodge County

2017-07-08 Thread Williams, Bob
I stopped at Tollefson Woods in Mantorville and heard what I thought was an
Acadian Flycatcher. I never got a really close call. I stopped again on my
way home and I've heard it 4 more times, once close. It seems to move around a
lot so no visual confirmation. For those who know the woods, start listening
after your cross the bridge and before you go very far up the hill. For those
who don't it is just east of the spot on CR 15 where the Carolina Wren(s) were.
It doesn't call much so patience is required.

[mou-net] Washington Yellow Breasted Chat and Rice Swainsons Hawks

2017-07-08 Thread Justin Watts
Annabelle and I stopped by Afton this morning (8am) and saw the continuing
yellow breasted chat.

Also, in Rice county just now we came across a pair of screaming Swainsons
hawks soaring west of the city of Dundas around a cell tower (130th st W and
Baseline rd). One swainsons has been reported in this same general area
consistently over the past couple months (eBird) and this is the same location
where at least one stayed last summer. Nice to see since these hawks are
challenging around the twin cities.

Justin and Annabelle Watts,
Hennepin
