Re: [mou-net] Pectoral Sandpiper

2017-12-09 Thread Gregory Jahner III
I was able to view the bird from the side of the road (not on private
property). GPS coordinates lat 44.7865 long -92.9736. I have birded this area
at these coordinates dozens of times with no issues. I have previously spoken
to multiple police officers as well and there is no concern from them in
viewing the gravel pit from this area as this is within the right of way. If
anyone does go look for it and needs assistance understanding where to view the
bird at this location feel free to reach out to me at
jahne...@hotmail.com.
Thanks!

Re: [mou-net] Pectoral Sandpiper Washington County

2017-12-09 Thread Alex
It appears there are at least 3 winter records for the state for Pectoral
Sandpiper, my apologies.
This is the first winter record for the state in over 40 years, the last winter
record being in 1976.

Still present as of 1:30 thanks to Greg Jahner III.

2017-12-09 Thread Alex
Liz Harper and I just found a record late Pectoral Sandpiper in the Grey Cloud
Island Gravel Pit. This would represent the latest record ever in Minnesota,
and beats the previous late record by 2 weeks.
The bird was working the closest shore near a flock of Mallards.

Here are the coordinates to the gravel pit and the exact location of the bird
itself:
44.783036,-92.975863
