Thanks Michelle for sending this out. Dr. Holtz was my advisor at CSP. I attended from 1981-85. He got me started with birding when I took his field biology class in 1983 and then a couple years later took his ornithology class. I’ve been a birder ever since. He was a wonderful teacher and advisor. He helped me get my degree. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Thanks again! Good morning I’m emailing because of the stupidity of the board on the yellow throated warbler reported 5/27/23. This should not have been removed from my list!! Just found 3 white winged scorers on Medicine Lake in Hennepin county. They were quite visible from the east shoreline drive and about the center of the lake. A dark duck with a white patch near the wing and around the eye. I saw on EBird that there was a Long Eared Owl found on a nest at the Richard Anderson conservation area in Hennepin county. Can anyone tell me approximately where in the area it is? It’s a big area and I looked for awhile this evening but couldn’t find it. I’d love to see it as it would be a lifer for me. Thanks! Just returned from the viewing area by fedex. Snowy was easily visible from the area. It was sitting on top of one of the bins used for loading cargo onto a plane. Right near the viewing area and close to the fedex building. Look to your right as you approach the parking and viewing area.
