Dave just called back again and reported that the two adults are actually GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS. He and Chris were able to get closer to the adults and see their light pink legs in addition to nearby Herring Gulls for a size comparison. Dave just called me back to report that they just found two adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls as well! These two birds are further out on the ice from the pier in Lake City, Wabasha County.
