I went out despite the howling winds on Sunday afternoon to check out
180th Street Marsh in Dakota County and had a good variety of
waterfowl (11 species) but the best birds of the day were, not one
but 3 Loggerhead Shrikes! I found 2 at the usual spot along Emery
Road between 160th and 180th St. but then had a third one at the
marsh. It was hunting along the road next to the water.
