At least 100 White Pelicans on St. Catherine Lake just south of Scott 8 and
east of 13, Scott County. (south of St. Catherine church on the hill)

Also, a couple dozen great egrets on a marsh adjacent to Valley Forge Rd.
(east of St. Catherine Lake).

[mou-net] White pelicans

With waterfowl migration still quite slow in the county, I was
surprised to see 5 pelicans this morning on the Foot Lake aeration
system just north of Willmar, Kandiyohi county.  From Willmar west we
had almost no snow all winter (until March), so many creeks and
spillways are barely...or not even...flowing; open water is quite
limited.
I am reminded a year ago today we had "ice out" on Foot Lake, but
looking at the long range forecast and current ice depth, I would
guess we are still 3 weeks away.
This morning, I did see/hear my first: sandhill cranes, red-winged
black birds, grackle, and 7 tundra swans (lots of trumpeters in area).

Winter finches still around, with redpolls abundant, but scattered.
Steve Gardner found several white-winged crossbills at the north end
of MinnWest Technology Campus yesterday.

30 White Pelicans migrating near Lake Harriet….

Why oh why didn’t they come yesterday during The Burroughs Birders Bird club?! 
FYI: The Tuesday bird club picked up 22 species… including 2 Solitary 
Sandpipers Minnehaha Creek (50th & Minnehaha Parkway)

We just saw 3 white Pelicans flying low over the water near the Lake Superior 
shoreline, heading southwest. No chance for a picture.

[mou-net] White Pelicans and Tundra Swans - Polk County

At 8pm this evening, I spotted approximately 70 White Pelicans, more than
two hundred Tundra Swans - and 6 Short-eared Owls at the Agassiz Valley
Water Resources Mgmt impoundment.

[mou-net] White pelicans

I just saw a large flock, 25+, of White Pelicans flying west over
South Minneapolis, Bancroft neighborhood.  They appeared to be
riding the thermals, as they would bank into the wind they
would appear to disappear then turning again brought them
back into clear view again.  I have never seen White Pelicans
in the city before.

[mou-net] White Pelicans - Miss River Stockholm, WI

There were more than 50 White Pelicans (many of them juveniles) in a flotilla 
in the middle of the Mississipi River a few miles north of Stockholm about 3 PM 
Saturday, Oct 17. Roger
