Installing on linux

2001-11-20 Thread Damien Covey

I've tried installing Mozilla onto my linux box without success. I've
had it working on linux before but installing wont work this time. It
says that installation is finished and then loads mozilla fine, but then
when I try to run it next time, my system stalls and the disk thrashes
a hell of a lot, then all I can do is reset the machine.

I'm installing it into /usr/local/mozilla, using both the RPM's and
installer.

I've noticed that it is also in /usr/lib/mozilla, whats the reason for this?

Can anyone help me with this problem.

Damien

Netscape 6.2 Release Notes are out. I guess that much mean that the
program itself will be relesed soon too then. I hope so, I'm looking
forward to this release.

Re: profiles - how to recover an old one?

2001-08-31 Thread Damien Covey

Just to let you know. I've got it working finally. Think it had
something to do with installing Komodo. I uninstalled all mozilla
applicatoins, incl Komodo. Saved my mail settings from profile
directory, then reinstalled Mozilla. Copyied old mail setting into
profile, and now it works.

Thanks for your suggestions.

profiles - how to recover an old one?

2001-08-29 Thread Damien Covey

My profile manager does not seem to be working. I run "mozilla
-ProfileManager" from the command line, but it just opens the usual browser.

My problem other than this is that Moz seems to have lost my old
profile! Its just created a new one. I need to get my old one back.

As far as I can see, all the info for this profile is still in the
"C:\Documents and Settings\damien.CENTRAL\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles"
directory, mozilla just doesnt use it.

Is this a bug with recent builds? Has this also happened to anyone
else? Can someone help me with a fix?

Re: IE6.0 Released

Are there any figures available for download numbers from netscape? I'd
like to know how 6.1 compares to 4.x.
