Re: History Window: change of view not saved

It is a very useful feature to quickly look where you've been. I do not want to resort it every time! In 0.9.3 it *did* retain your settings. This is something that was broken somewhere between 0.9.3 and 0.9.6. What version do you have? I am speaking of all the latest builds. Day after day, they have left the history feature buggy and a simple thing such as the sort order cannot be retained--a small but very annoying issue.
Theme choices, Print Preview, examples of bad underlying code?
themes available for this browser and what's so hard about fixing print preview, and fixing the sorting of History (retaining it), and maybe whether it points to Mozilla being poorly written code that is hard to fix without causing other problems. Also, why does it take like 30 seconds to a minute to load any Java stuff on most pages? And why is it when I scroll down a page like the Wall Street Journal, that it takes a full second pause between each screen as I am paging downward or upward? www.wsj.com (need to be subscriber) I cannot offhand think of another website that behaves like that but there are plenty. Why has my Realplayer worked on certain pages before, but no longer works despite the fact that I've left the plugins folder untouched as I keep trying the new builds? I try most every build as they come down the pike and these issues stay the same. Anyone else getting annoyed by problems like this?
Re: History Window: change of view not saved
David W. Fenton wrote: OK, I've looked on Google and Bugzilla for this one, too, and didn't find anything. I'm using 0.9.6 on Win95 OSR2. When I open the History window (having it take over part of the browser window is an IE-copycat abomination, of course), and change the view (I hate the IE-derived Grouped view), in Mozilla 0.9.3, this would be saved so that the next time I opened the history window, it would have the same layout as I left it in. But it always opens to the stupid grouped view (which I hate). And when I do get to the ungrouped view (a tabular view, like the Windows Explorer Details view), and try to sort, it takes 3 clicks of the LAST VISITED header to get it sorted right. The first click does nothing noticeable, other than changing the top item in the list to the very last page visited (and the /\ triangle disappears). The second click sorts in date ascending order (i.e., earliest at top of list) and the third click finally gets me to last at top. Something seems to be wrong with the updating of the grid. When I then click the Last Visited header again, it changes the first item to the last item (i.e., the earliest) but leaves everything else the same. In other words, it cycles through almost the same set of 3 views described above (only two of which have any use). I suspect something is screwed up here with the basic widget, but couldn't figure out what to look for in the bug lists. Can anyone else reproduce this? The problem with the loss of your view settings was definitely *not* there in 0.9.3, though I can't say for sure if the sorting problem was there or not, as once I had it sorted correctly, the setting remained and I may never have noticed it. It's pretty annoying, in general. I totally agree, the history function has been totally ignored. I agree with everything you've said. Wow this page really kills Mozilla fast!
Immediately the browser pretty much freezes though the page continues to load and finishes loading, but no interaction is possible after. This is an important page to me... can anyone take a look? Regards.

Build 2001112303 Anyone filed a bug on it yet? Okay, to follow up on my original post, I am using the Java 1.3.0_01 plugin and running W2K. Is that the latest version of Java? I have tried this on both the 11/23 and 11/24 builds and had the same horrid freezing up from the beginning of the loading. Since I haven't visited the Abit website for some months, I can't say how other builds were working without redownloading some of them. The loading progresses very slowly as compared to IE6. I have not filed the bug yet.
Nov 12th build seems noticeably faster at loading up
second to load on my system, whereas every other build was about twice that. I haven't turned this into a scientific study, but I'm virtually positive it is quite a bit faster. Anyone else noticing a difference?

Whoops...further testing makes me think that either my system has changed a bit after I removed a load of files or that it was one of the last 3 builds that sped up loading.
History feature isn't quite working right
numeric or alphabetic order it was left in. It keeps reverting to a default. I used to love the history feature in Netscape 4.x. It's almost working now in Mozilla but a little buggy still.

Oct 26 is downright snappy, though, and highly recommended. :) barney, Thanks a lot! I went back to 10/26 build and it really is very nice! I think I missed this one because there were no build comments on it. Everything I need for now is in this one. : ) Regards.
Where can I get an October 25th or so Build of mozilla?
Anyone?

I think you got caught by a recent bug which screws up your preferences when you press Ok. Get an older build and wait for the bug to be resolved. (I don't know the bug id. Search bugzilla) Pratik Thanks a lot for your advice on both my questions! However, I really do believe that the feature for Block images from this server is currently not functional in and of itself, but I could be wrong.

Where is Block Images from this Server?
right before the deletion of Block Images from this Server feature on the context menu are pretty completely hosed. This means I cannot revert to a good build now (I rechecked them). What is going on with the removal of this feature for this many builds now?

Block Images from this Server? Right click menu?
Anyone?
