Fark: Photoshop This Picture

2001-10-29 Thread Mike Koenecke

I wonder what code causes this. If you go to http://www.fark.com (a
site I really like), try a "Photoshop This Picture" link. Click on the
Comments, where the modified pictures are posted. No pictures show up
in Mozilla, but of course they do show up in Internet Explorer. Anyone
know why?

Strange. I tested the "Photoshop This Picture" link on a current Linux
CVS build, and saw tons of images (a purple haired person in all
impossible variants)

No, this is a different issue. 96343 related to the text formatting on
the main page, which I also observed but is not happening any more. I
just tried View/Show Images, and note that all the missing images are
indeed on the page, but rendered as 0 x 0 in size! Fascinating.

Works in 6.2 just fine which is basically 0.9.4+

Interesting. You saw it correctly; the images do not show up on my
machine. I'm on Windows 2000, and filed it as bug number 107489.

By any chance is your image settings at "accept images from originating
server only"

Edit->Privacy & Security->Images->Image Acceptance policy

Make sure the setting is for accept all images. The images on the web
page are not all on fark.com

Pratik.

Not your fault -- it's a practically useless setting, and anyone who
sets it (intentionally or accidentally) is going to end up with
non-obvious problems such as yours.

`Rejecting other-server images is undesirable for some popular sites'
