Much better than having just one global plugins directory. Now what we need is ability to install xpis in user directories. So taht I can install stuff like Mozgest and not have it disapper when I extract a new nightly. Pratik.

Re: Question about plugins
The whole point of having it being able to be installed to the user directory is that most users don't(shouldn't) have write permissions to the installation directory of a global install and so can't install plugins there. It is still assumed that if one profile has a plugin installed than all profiles will want it. The point of it is not to allow users to selectively disable plugins in different profiles. In other words, if I have two profiles under the same user in Unix, then the plugins have to be shared between the profiles. Why is this directory user based and not profile based? Pratik.

Question about plugins
According to the Release Notes for 0.9.9: You now have the option of installing plugins in your Mozilla user directory ($HOME/.mozilla/plugins on Unix). These plugins are loaded in addition to those in your Mozilla install directory. I take it that this means \Documents and Settings\marko\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\\.slt\plugins on W2K, yes? I put the Java plugins there but about:plugins doesn't list them. I put them in my NS4.7x plugins directory, still about:plugins doesn't list them although it lists the Quicktime and Shockwave plugins that are there. They only seem to be found if I put them in the Mozilla plugins directory. I run a CVS builds, currently only a couple of hours old, rather than nightlies but surely this feature should be present? And why are they not found in the NS plugins directory? This is kind of important as running clobber_all when rebuilding clobbers the Moz plugin directory as well so it would be good to be able to use my profile directory.
