As I understand it, spellcheck is scheduled to land several days after
the 1.0 branch is cut. What do you mean by 'google toolbar', you can
probably get the same functionality with keywords or
http://easysearch.mozdev.org/ [have never used it]...

There's the sidebar which has an option to search on google. Google also
has a Google Sidebar available. Also you can type in your search word in
the URL bar, pres down arrow to select "Search "" using Google" and
have it work. In fact teher are so many ways to search in Mozilla that
mpt decided its a usability bug! See item 6 on
http://mpt.phrasewise.com/stories/storyReader$35. And yet you need a
Google searchbar

Pratik.

I think he means http://toolbar.google.com/ which is for IE only

You can, of course, get a Google sidebar for Moz at
http://www.google.com/mozilla/google-search.html or Browser Buttons for
your Personal Toolbar from http://www.google.com/options/netscape6.html

I have used all, and nothing comes close to the toolbar in terms of
functionality. Not a big deal for most, perhaps.

Thanks. Now for the really stupid question. I have dowloaded the file and
unzipped it, but when I click the install.js file, it gives me a javascript
runtime error.

You don't need to unzip it. In the browser, File->Open, navigate to
where you saved the d/l .XPI file, select it, click Open, the installer
will run.

Pratik had e-mailed the same instructions. Thanks to you both. It is exactly
what I wanted.

add bookmark for: http://www.google.com/search?q=%s

The google bar is working great, but the spellchecker crashes me every time.
And now my sidebar will not display any content unless I close it and reopen
it.

As I say, getting close.
