Re: installing plugin in Mozilla

2001-12-01 Thread Philippe

Hi,

Thanks for your answers!

I will give a go. This seems complicated to me.

I understand that Netscape is using the code of Mozilla for its own release.
Why can't the program then recognise Mozilla as a pure Netscape and also
look for mozilla?

Thanks anyway

 Hi,

Hopefully this is the place to ask that kind of question :)

I am using Mozilla 0.9.2 (soon 0.9.6) and I am very happy with it for one
 problem I have

I can't install any plugin. When I go on a page that requires a plugin
and
click the link then all I end up with is a page telling mw that it
couldn't
find a plugin for my browser!

What am I doing wrong? Can someone guide me?

 Thank you

Try downloading the plugin for Netscape 6.x, and then manually show it
your Mozilla folder. Sometimes mozilla.exe needs to be renamed to
netscape.exe during installation of the plugin(and then changed back to
 mozilla.exe)

That is a good question, why don't you ask the plugin makers? Some
people have reported this as happening, but for one plugin I don't
remember it as being my experience(I think Flash, but I am not sure),
and went through my procedure...

You do not need to install plugins. All you need to do is to borrow
them from the Programs which you may already have, such as Windows
Mewdia,Quicktime,Acrobat, etc. The same plugins should be in at least oner
Netscape Plugins folder.Just Copy from it,and Paste. You can Copy and
Paste the entire Plugins folder.I have been doing it for all
Netscapes,Mozilla,including nightlies,and it works well.
If you want any clarification, contact me at my e-mail address.I do not
visit this Web Board too often.
