Yes, but whether you use news:// or snews:// makes a big difference. I
believe Karthik is changing from snews://secnews.netscape.com to
news://news.mozilla.org. Changing to news://secnews.netscape.com,
news://secnews.aoltw.net, news://moznews.aoltw.net or

the same server.

I don't see any issue on my machine. I see light grey horizontal stripes
behind all of the background, which seems to be as expected because of
the background image on the main frame.

My video card is

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 RF (rev 0).

and I'm running on Mozilla 0.9.8+ (today's build, from source on this

This is a Linux system, though - it may not be that relevant. Also, I
know the Rage 128's are not that similar to earlier Rage cards.

Server back-end test software

2002-01-14 Thread Mark

I created some test software to test a web server's specialized back-end
some time ago. The concept is very simple. Port 80 is "snooped" on
the server and packets are saved into a file. I use a web client to
access the server and exercise the server during which the client
requests are saved into a file. I then process this file and feed it
into a special script to exercise the web server.

This worked great for http, but now I need to update the test software
to work with https. Since this technique obviously doesn't work with
https, I need to find a new (easy) way of generating the requests.

I thought of hacking mozilla to write out the requests before sending
the requests to network services.

I was looking at nsStandardURL as a place to insert the "hooks",
possibly as a debug level.

If someone could point me to the correct module I'd sure appreciate it.

Also, something like this would be great for generalized testing and
I've thought of putting this together as an open source project. Does
anyone have any advice??

If this is the wrong forum, please let me know where an appropriate
place to post this question might be.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks.

A similar page worked OK with Win 98 for me also.

I've now upgraded to Win 2K and since then designed the new page that
fails. So, I didn't know if it was the page design or Win 2K.

Appears to be a Win 2K related bug.

I've filed a Bugzilla report. Frankly though, it a waste of time. The
debug crew is overwhemed and it takes months or years to get to things.

Use of the non-standard "document.all" DOM thingie. Check the Javascript
Console to see. You need to get the owner to fix their page. File a bug in
Bugzilla under the Evangelism component.

It also does not work in SuSE 7.1. There is another url that
does not work with Mozilla:

http://www.murciainnova.com

to the left of the screen there should be 7 links under the names:
presentacion, el proyecto, actividades, publicaciones, enlaces,
unidad de gestion, foro virtual, tu opinion

None of these links work in Mozilla, although they work with N4.x.

Any idea what is causing this problem?.

PLEASE TEST THIS... with mozilla .9.1 and linux

2001-06-23 Thread Andre Manuel Rocha Lourenco

hi!

i use mozilla 0.9.1 with linux (kernel2.4 xfree4.0.3 kde)
and i have some gif display problems:

at this page: http://andyrock.no.sapo.pt

there should exist 5 lateral gifs saying:

FEUP

RENEGADOS

TRIG-XOTA

LINUX

VISITAS

the "TRIG-XOTA" gif does not display for me... with linux, 'cause with
windows theres no problem here.

plese test your linux 0.9.1 mozilla at this same page.

Andre Lourenco

PS: with mozilla 0.8 and 0.8.1 i had no problem.

You can usually use ps and grep to find processes by name. See man grep
for details. Below is an example.

[chrlsim@cantor chrlsim]$ ps | grep - -e netscape
25878 p1 S 95:12 /usr/local/netscape/netscape

How to test whether netscape is running

2001-05-26 Thread Zsolt Koppany

Hi,

how is it possible to test whether netscape has been started and it is
running under UNIX?
I would like to do the following:
- if netscape is not running I start it without "-remote openURL"
- if it is already running I start it "-remote openURL" to display a
html page.

Does netscape bind a TCP/IP port?

I need a solution only for UNIX.

gtk test fails during Mozilla build.......

2001-04-20 Thread Courtney Thomas

Greetings !

Under FreeBSD-current, attempting to install mozilla, having already
completed [without error messages]
configure/make/make install gtk-1.2.8

when I...
cd /usr/ports/www/mozilla/work/mozilla
gmake -f client.mk build

on the screen I get

Checking for gtk version >= 1.2.0..
./configure: /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/gtk12/work/gtk+-1.2.8: permission
denied

*** Could not run the gtk test program
Error 1

I realize, of course, that gmake is apparently complaining about being
denied permission to dir -> gtk+-1.2.8, but I don't know why, as
permissions, AFAIK are OK.

What's wrong and how is it repaired ?

Thanks,

Courtney

I suspect that

http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla/source/security/nss/tests/pkcs11/netscape/suites/security/pkcs11/pk11test.c

is what you are looking for. To download and build the NSS source code,
see

PK 11 Test Source Code ???

2001-01-11 Thread Megha Narang

Hi,
I am involved in testing a PKCS#11 module. I'd like to use the PKCS #11
utility package 1.0.6. However I think I need to see the source code for the
pk11test.exe program to understand what the tests are doing. Could anybody
tell me, where can I get the source code of pk11test, or if it's available
at all.
