The only slight problem is that the Windows bundled MP3 encoder doesn't
produce audio and video sync. LAME does, but it's not available as an AVI
encoder.

your data, as it includes a built-in mpeg-2 decoder and got an avi output
plugin. It helped me a lot, as I now don't have to decompress first in a big
wav before re-encoding.
