The reason they're not funny is that Raucous Caucus isn't satire. It's gossip
(and rather petty gossip at that).

Anonymity is an important part of free
expression, especially in repressive
societies. I believe that the U.S.
Supreme Court sided with this viewpoint
in a recent decision.

I put my name on most everything I post
on the Internet for philosophical reasons,
but taking ownership for controversial
positions can result in retaliation and
repression.

I support RaucousCaucus' use of anonymity
and satire, even though I don't think
they're all that funny.

i think David Brauer is right on this one. the whole RaucousCaucus
operation is really cowardly. I've been meaning to comment on this for some
time. They are providing political commentary that utilizes a satirical
format. The debate could be welcome if was open. The refusal to take
responsibility for the commentary and be available for further dialogue,
takes away its value, if not making it counterproductive. The anonymity is
more cowardly since it is consists almost entirely of attacks, some of them
personal, that are not directed at particularly powerful people. It seems
reasonable for a public forum to prohibit the spreading of anonymous
attacks.
