Server Connections Channels
I have a WebMethod's client that is connecting to my MQ V5.1 Queue Manager from a remote system using a Server Connection channel. I believe the WebMethod client is not disconnecting (or ending cleanly) which results in many orphan active connections. Is there a parameter in QM.INI or another place which will stop the channel after a certain amount of inactivity? Robert S. Kasischke 415-243-6975
MQ Online Manuals
Is it just me or has IBM re-organized there MQSeries websites (again)? All the URLs I had bookmarked no longer work. I was just trying to find the Online Manuals, but they seem to be gone. Anyone Else? Robert S. Kasischke 415-243-6975
Re: MQ Online Manuals
Thanks, All my bookmarks use ts/mqseries instead of integration/mqfamily. It worked last week. -Original Message- From: MQSeries List [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Tony Devitt Sent: Monday, December 08, 2003 5:28 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: MQ Online Manuals http://www-3.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/library/manualsa/manuals/ crosslatest.html ...works for me Instructions for managing your mailing list subscription are provided in the Listserv General Users Guide available at http://www.lsoft.com Archive: http://vm.akh-wien.ac.at/MQSeries.archive

Re: Losing Message Sequence Number Sync
NO!!! Only one IP address. That's the whole point of the F5 Big IP. The sending Queue Manager (supposedly) knows nothing about the two receivers. -Original Message- From: Chan, Ian M [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2003 8:59 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Losing Message Sequence Number Sync I don't know about the F5 BigIP. Re: Losing Message Sequence Number Sync
Thanks Eugene. Yes we are using a F5 BigIP and the network admins claim they have it working on the message level. My experience is the same as yours: we are getting message sequence number problems. -Original Message- From: eugene rosenberg [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, September 17, 2003 7:43 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Losing Message Sequence Number Sync If you are talking about F5 BigIP, I used them in MQ network. But you cannot use them for load balancing on the message level since you will experience channel sequence number problems. However, they can be used to load balance on the connection level. Each channel connection can be considered as TCP session and all messages within the session should go to the same queue manager. Re: Comparing IBM MQSeries to other products
Check out Sonic Software's (http://www.sonicsoftware.com) and Fiorano's (http://www.fiorano.com/) websites. They have good comparisons between themselves and MQSeries. bob k -Original Message- From: Madsen, Timothy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, August 15, 2003 6:47 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Comparing IBM MQSeries to other products Hello, We use MQSeries for our application. Channel Retries Left
All, (Maybe it's just a defect in the platform I'm working on but) Is there a way (in MQ V5.1) to display the Long and Short Retries Left values for a channel that is not started? Re: A question on EDI Interoperability
This is like asking What is messaging? It is a matter of definition. EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange. In the most general sense this email is EDI. Most commonly it is used to define the (batch) exchange of (Business) documents (files) between two different business partners (called trading partners in formal EDI). There is a national standard for EDI (defined by ANSI ASC X.12 - (American National Standard Institute, Accredited Standards Committee)) and an international standard (UN/EDIFACT or CEFACT whatever they are calling themselves this year). There are also industry specific EDI standards and some companies have there own proprietary formats they often call EDI. There also has been a move in the standards community to define EDI standards for XML. (See OASIS or EB/XML). To get back to your questions: EDI Interoperability is probably something to do with the ability of software too transmit/receive EDI standard documents. How it works?: I'm afraid you are going to have to be much more specific in order to get any sort of answer to this question. MQSeries can be used as a transport method too move EDI documents.
