MQMF_SEGMENTATION_ALLOWED Field
We believe that the aforementioned field's flag is on. We would like for it not to be on as we ahve a large message being split up when we don't want it to be. We have already increased our channels, SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT QUEUE and the specific message, sizes to accomodate the message size, burt it is still being segmented. I know this field is in the message descriptor. I am being told that the information is being obtained from the queue manager. But, I do not agree as I do not see anything to do with segmentation on the create QMGR attributes. Is the app providing this info? Message Length and Channel Sizes.
Currently out channel sizes are 10 MB. Most of our message lengths are 4 MB with a few that we had to increase to 10, thus the channel size. We have started receiving data from a vendor that will require us to up the message length of some of our messages to 15MB. Thus we want to chnge our channel sizes to 15MB. Does anyone see any ramifications from this increase? I feel it is a relatively small jump. Our MQ environment currently consists of NT and Z/OS. It is relatively small -- 6 test and 6 prod servers. Also, I was curious about, not that I was going to make this change, but curoioius about the 100MB message size limit. How does the mainframe handle this with it's VSAM limitaion? Does it segment? Thanks? WaitInterval on CICS Bridge Process
For our MQ/CICS Bridge Process on Z/OS, I need to modify the Waitinterval parameter. Following is the script: DEFINE PROCESS('CICSTSC3.BRIDGE.PROCESS') REPLACE + DESCR('CICS BRIDGE MONITOR') + APPLICID('CKBR') + APPLTYPE(CICS) + USERDATA('AUTH=VERIFY_UOW,WAIT=nnn) We originally had the waitinterval at 20 milliseconds, but we were constantly receiving : Transaction CKBP not started within monitor wait interval. It was suggested that I set the wait interval to -1 for unlimited wait. The thing is I cannot find in any of the books, specific examples for the wait parm. I woulf like to see where it says -1 is unlimited (as opposed to 0). I finde references to USERDATA, like its length, etc. but not what my options are to put in there. For the AUTH parm, I found specific doc in the Systems Admin Guide. Can anyone verify for me that -1 is for unlimited wait? Thank you! Mysterious Issuance of Display Indoubt Threads
Question conning MQSeries 5.3. on the mainframe. We have a 'twi-light zone' situation! When the MSTR address space is brought up we issue some commands, in particular, to display indoubt threads. I know certain commands like the ARCHIVE LOG command also has the display indoubt threads embedded in it. When I browse the MSTR address space during the day I see that the display indoubt threads command is somehow being issued automatically. No one is issuing this! What could be causing it to happen. Could some kind of condition be kicking it off? OS/390 JCLPUT
Several months ago I attended a MQ OS/390 Sysadmin class where in one of the exercises there was JCL to launch a batch program to put messages on a queue. Does anybody have a sample of this or something similar? Thanks! MQ/CICS Bridge on Mainframe.
Just finished installing the MQ adapter in CICS on our mainframe. I am currently working on the MQ bridge in CICS now. Does anyone have any experience with the bridge? Specifically, any user exit customization? Also, some of our legacy CICS regions have not been converted to LE. Do any of the MQ/ CICS programs require LE? The System Set Up Guide specifies to have the LE libraries in the CICS regions and we cannot do this yet with some regions. Thanks! MQ/CICS and LU6.2
Can someone give me the steps for the following? On the OS/390 I want to set up an LU6.2 connection between the queue manager and one of our CICS regions. I am reading the Intercomminication and System Setup Guide, but I am getting a little confused. I am assuming that I have to define an applid for the channel initiator in SYS1.VTAMLST in addition to a conn/sess in CICS. Is this correct? Re: MQSERIES AND CICS
Thank you! And now, any opinion on the CICS Transaction Gateway? This application flow starts out on the NT, comes up thru a gateway, runs in a DB2 stored procedure, EXCI's to CICS. Re: MQSERIES AND CICS
I was thinking more along the lines of functionality, additional coding requirements, DPL, etc. For our proof of concept project we want to replace an application that currently accesses CICS via an EXCI from a DB2 stored procedure. Currently this request goes directly into an AOR. However, with our future apps, we may want them to be 3270 initiated via the TOR. I guess what I am asking under what will one give you that the other doesn't? Basically we want to get tinto CICS and just run the existing programs. MQ and MQSI on the Mainframe
We are just in the beginning stages of planning to implement MQ in our environment. This environment will consist of the OS/390 MF and NT. The powers that be have decided to implement the MQ base and MQSI on the mainframe platform. I am trying to investigate any performance issues this will provide on the mainframe. I have downloaded the support pac for Capacity Planning and Tuning, but I would like to know of any 'real world' experiences that any of you have encountered. Thanks!!!! SYNCH/ASYCN Processing
We currently have some applications that require synchronous processing.
