Instead of pressing SPACE at the title screen, press ENTER. This will start a new, clean userdisk at the beginning of the game. Ys 3
I'm having problems with the English version of Ys 3... From what I have heard, after the opening text it *should* create a userdisk for me from a blank floppy. However, no one seems to have told this to the *game*, which repeatedly asks me for a userdisk and tells me bluntly that my other floppies are *not* the userdisk. Can anyone help me/tell me where I might find a userdisk for the beginning of the game? ^.^ _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html

RE: MSX-PLAYer beta for download @ msx.org
(Oops, sorry for that previous message, pushed the wrong button...) Any idea why the ASCII player needs a 500MHz Pentium even for emulating simple MSX-1 games like Castle Excellent? And it does need that, at least, because here at work, I have a 400MHz PC that is obviously too slow for the MSX player. I can't imagine playing MSX-2 games on my PDA if the software isn't streamlined. Luckily, I still own a real MSX-2 (two of them, actually) that runs these games better at 3,58MHz than a PC at 500MHz (MSX Rules :-). This operating system has to be emulated on the PC, soo you're running an emulation of an emulation. > I think I'll keep to fMSX for DOS for now... If they would have used the bios of the real PSX they would have been breaking copyright laws. The wrote an new BIOS also. So they did much more then only hardware emulation. Besides copyrights there is also something like patents. In the US of A you could patent an algorithm for producing sound and the chipmanufacturer can implemente it in hardware. If you make a software version of this algorithm it would still be under the patent restriction, altough not under copyright restriction. In Europe (for the moment) it is unpossible to patent this kind of "thought-patterns" but IT-bussines is trying to get the american model here also :-(( David Heremans -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html
