Yes. The Lost World had some good musics, but some others were
boring...
   Musics are for Moonsound?

The musics are the same as in the Lost World, and those musics were
(mostly)
the same as in Pumpkin Adventure III (which did also have MoonSound
music,
by the way. The others haven't -yet-. They need a composer...
volunteers???
Anybody???). And if I remember correctly some musics from PA3 also
appeared

Chaos from TWZ volunteered... But I think Peter is a bit busy... I don't
know
if they made a deal yet.

-
Correct, I'm the one who volunteered... (stupid me :) nah just kiddin')
I guess Peter and I have made a deal already, cause I've already finished
some musics.. fmpac music that is... cause I've sold my moonsound... (why??
cause I'm a TWZ-member)
So if someone's got a spare moonsound.:)

I'm btw not the only one who volunteered; Johnny Hassink is also doin' sum
stuff for RoA...

Now the real thing why I'm reacting on this subject,
I've lost the email adres of Peter Meulendijks...
Who can help me?? Manuel??

 in PA2...

That's not true. PA2 musics were not as good as PA3...

The music itself is quite nice, but I already heard the same music in three
 different games...

Yup. It's one of the drawbacks of TLW and ROA.

!!

OK, something else: for MCCW we need software (also game!) reviewers! So any
volunteers: please mail us at [EMAIL PROTECTED]!
RoA will probably be reviewed by my brother, but we also didn't get a nice
review of Sand Stone yet, let alone the Japanese software that was released in
Tilburg! So please: send us a mail when you're interested to write some
reviews!

Re: RoA

2000-05-09 Thread burguera

Have you ever played a roguelike game? According to your
comments,
RoA is similar, in some aspects, to a roguelike game.

Pfff... never heard of it.
Examples??? (well-known titles???)

After this explanation, I see RoA is different to roguelike
games.
A roguelike game is similar to a RPG, with a complex
rule-system. All the game is turn based and most of the maps and
enemies are generated randomly. Some of these games are always
expanding according to comments of the players.
Examples... there aren't comercial roguelikes. Perhaps "Diablo"
from Blizzard can be considered a roguelike. But the "true"
roguelike games are amateur games, distributed by internet. The
origin of roguelike games is "Rogue", a game distributed with
earlier versions of Unix BSD.
Is very simple, perhaps it can be easyly ported to MSX.

About ordering (in some other mail)... For Sunrise products you
can

It is distributed in Spain by club Hnostar.

Re: RoA

2000-05-08 Thread Laurens Holst

Ten times better than The Lost World, which got me bored in five
minutes...
Only fighting, talking, fighting, talking, etc. etc. etc.

 I liked The Lost World.

Yes. Imagine how much you would like RoA!!!

RoA has non-linear gameplay, animated battles,

Animated battles? With big battle graphics, like The Lost World? Or the
battle graphics are the same sprites of the game, like Xak? It is a
 real-time combat?

It is not real-time but turn-based, just like the Lost World. And it has a
seperate battle-screen. Because of the animations the battle graphics are
not as huge as in the Lost World (and PA3).

  cool puzzles ('find out which
one is lying about his family history', very original!!!), very good
graphics, still the same boring music (who's gonna make some new???),

you can pick up stuff while you're walking and your companions talk to
you, you
can make your own decisions and go to the dark side etc, everytime you
play
it it will be different. And it's still expanding... WHOW!

 Are the maps generated randomly?

No no no... About the 'everytime you play it it will be different';
depending on the choices you make in the game you get other subquests. And
about the expanding, it is a 'multi-volume' game. The first part is there
now, but the game hasn't ended yet. There will be more parts (they promised
they would be bigger in size), and once you've got a new part you can
proceed where you left in the previous part.

You can buy scrolls, and also learn them permanently (however the chance
of
this succeeding depends on your character's intelligence)(you might have
to
try twice before it works)... And you can get Karma and Mindforce, two
very
bad things... Mindforce lets your karma increase every battle which in
turn
results in less experience points... Fortunately, you can clear your
karma
and decrease your mindforce at the church. You will also get karma if
you
steal something... Also, your characters can specialize in several
skills...
You can for example teach thievery to someone, which enables you to open
several locked boxes and get more cool stuff... Or you can train
yourself to
master more types of weapons... You can also get a special skill which
you
can use once per 'day' (yes, there is also a day-count).

It seems a complete rule system... 8)'''

Ain't it cool!!!

And you can submit your own quest to the makers, so that it can be added
in
one of the next parts (read the readme for that).

 There is a quest editor?

No. But you can make a textfile with very detailed descriptions and send it
to the makers. They will then put it in the game. Provided it isn't too bad
ofcourse.

It's just not... boring. The Lost World really was, and PA3 too (in a
much
lesser degree, btw). This game just has so many features, and if you're
stuck with the one thing you can temporarily do another quest if you
want...

The first part was a bit short though... But it wasn't expensive either
(Dfl. 17,50, about 8 Euros). I am really waiting for the next part!!!

In a few days I will have it!! 8D

Alrighty then!!!

ordering-information.
