The Eleventh Machine Translation Summit, organized by
the European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT),
will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, 10-14 September
2007.
  MT Summit XI will bring together scientists,
developers and users of machine translation and other
tools for multilingual processing. Cutting-edge research
and demonstrations from leading academic, business and
government organizations will showcase the latest
results. During the main conference, MT Summit XI will
have numerous sessions including research papers,
reports on users' experiences, discussions of policy
issues, invited talks and panel discussions. Before the
main conference, the program includes two full days of
tutorials and workshops. These wide—ranging activities
in the machine translation will allow participants from
research, business and government to get together to
explore how to use machine translation technology to
conquer language barriers and overcome the digital
divide.
  The EAMT cordially invites you all -- researchers,
developers, providers, users, and observers -- to MT
Summit XI, to contribute to and witness ongoing efforts
in developing and using machine translation technology
and tools for translation support..

Papers
MT Summit XI seeks original papers about all aspects of
machine translation. Topics of interests include, but
are not limited to:
* MT for the Web
* Practical MT systems (MT for professionals, MT for
multilingual eCommerce, MT for localization, etc.)
* Translation aids (translation memory, terminology
databases, etc.)
* Translation environments (workflow, support tools,
conversion tools for lexica, etc.) 
* MT methodologies 
* Human factors in MT and user interfaces 
* Speech  translation 
* MT in multilingual public service (eGovernment etc.)
* MT embedded in other services 
* MT and related technologies (information retrieval,
text categorization, text summarization, information
extraction, etc.)
* Multilingual natural language generation
* Dictionaries and lexica for MT 
* Text and speech corpora for MT and knowledge
extraction from corpora 
* MT evaluation techniques and evaluation results
* Standards in text and lexicon encoding for MT 


There will be three categories of papers: 
(R) Research papers: Submissions are invited for reports
of significant research results in any aspect of machine
translation and related areas.  Such reports should
include a substantial evaluation component. 
(P) Poster presentations (with or without
Demonstration): Submissions are invited for
presentations that are best suited for poster sessions,
which are more interactive. Submissions are also invited
for reports on the design, implementation, operation and
evaluation of operational and prototype systems. 
(U) User studies: Submissions are invited for reports on
users' experiences with using MT. 


All types of papers should include a 100 word abstract,
and up to 5 keywords.

Call for Exhibitions
In the tradition of past MT Summits, there will be an
exhibition area showcasing commercial products and near-
to-market prototypes throughout the conference. Exhibits
will not be restricted to machine translation systems
and support tools, but include a variety of language-
technology-enabled applications.  If you would like to

We are pleased to announce the second call for papers for MT Summit XVII:
the 17th Machine Translation Summit, which will take place in the Helix
Theatre at Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland, from 19-23 August 2019.
Nine workshops (https://www.mtsummit2019.com/workshops) and a number of
tutorials will run on the first two days 19-20 August, with the main tracks
of the Summit featuring on 21-23 August. Three invited speakers have been
confirmed: Helena Moniz, Laura Casanellas, and Arianna Bisazza.

The conference is organised by the European Association for Machine
Translation (EAMT: http://eamt.org), and overall chair of the conference is
Andy Way (ADAPT Centre, Dublin City University, Ireland), supported by the
following track co-chairs:

We are keen to solicit novel, original contributions in each of these four
areas that will advance the field of MT. In addition to regular
contributions for the Research track, we are seeking submissions for the
User, Translator, and Project tracks, which can report work-in-progress, or
novel applications of technology to real application scenarios. Submissions
must be unpublished, and written in English.

We seek submissions across the entire spectrum of MT-related research
activity. Traditionally, the MT Summit is the place where researchers,
developers, users and vendors all get together under one roof to discuss
the issues of the day. Accordingly, we are especially interested in papers
which demonstrate a clear interaction between researchers and practitioners
who are applying MT technology to their specific use-cases. Thus, we
particularly encourage submissions that are oriented towards building
robust and practical systems, including systems where there is a
user-in-the-loop, adaptation to particular domains or usage scenarios, and
utilization of available resources in real production scenarios.

There is little doubt that the quality of MT systems has improved
significantly in recent years. In line with general overhyping of AI, we
have seen some extraordinary claims about the capability of MT, so much so
that translators have had cause to worry about the impact of this improved
technology on their profession. In response, and as a clear attempt to
bring translators and system developers closer together, the 2019 MT Summit
will also feature a Translators track, where we get to hear what the issues
of the day are for perhaps the largest set of users of the technology.

As well as the four main tracks, the conference will also feature invited
talks, panel discussions, a technology showcase, tutorials and workshops,
presentation of the 2019 EAMT Best Thesis Award, and presentation of the
IAMT 2019 Award of Honour. The general assemblies of EAMT and IAMT will
also take place (as well as the IAMT council meeting). More information
about each of these will follow in due course.

Notification comes a full three months before the conference takes place,
which should be plenty of time for conference attendees who need visas.

Research Track

Full papers must not exceed 9 pages plus unlimited pages for references,
and must be formatted according to the MT Summit 2019 style guide (PDF
version / LaTeX version / MS Word version). These papers will be rigorously
reviewed for novelty and impact, and published in the conference
proceedings. They will be presented at the conference as either oral
presentations or as posters.

Translator Track

For the translator track, we will be accepting submissions of no more than
6 pages, plus unlimited pages for references, reporting professional
translators’ experiences with MT on issues such as the following:

   Productivity measurements and their impact on MT adoption
   -

   Impact of MT on translators’ work (pricing issues, post-editing tasks
   assignment and their acceptance among translators)
   -

   Ethical and confidentiality issues when using MT
   -

   Psycho-social aspects of MT adoption (translator attitudes and
   (pre-)conceptions)
   -
