Deleting attachments from a message
Hi all, IIRC, it was possible in mutt to delete an atachment from a message, but leave the message itself intact. I just tried to do this with my mutt (1.3.25), but it didn't seem to work anymore. What I did was: 'v'iew attachments 'd'elete attachment 'q'uit to index (by now, a small 'd' appears in front of the message) '$'ynchronize the mailbox or even 'q'uit mutt After these actions, mutt still shows the enormous size of the message, and the old number of attachments (using dgc's attachment counting patch). A quick check reveiled that the attachment was _not_ deleted from the message. Before I flea this: is this a known issue? TIA. 10:31 [rene@clerc:~] $ mutt -v Mutt 1.3.25i (2002-01-01) Copyright (C) 1996-2001 Michael R. Elkins and others. Mutt comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type `mutt -vv'. I use 1.3.27, many patches but not mutt-1.3.24.dgc.attach.2 I tried within a maildir folder, perhaps this makes some difference. Nicolas

At Wed, Feb 20 2002 [10:37 +0100], René Clerc aroused my curiosity with: Hi all, Hello :-) IIRC, it was possible in mutt to delete an atachment from a message, but leave the message itself intact. I just tried to do this with my mutt (1.3.25), but it didn't seem to work anymore. It doesn't seem to work when dgc's attachment patch is applied. I checked this against an unpatched mutt - it stopped working after the patch was applied (mutt-1.3.23.dgc.attach.2 in my configuration). Tschoe, Steff msg24602/pgp0.pgp Description: PGP signature

Yes, this is correct. Unfortunately, I neglected to update my web page, so I'm not sure that anyone but David knew about it. :/ I've just done so: http://home.uchicago.edu/~dgc/mutt/#attach -- -D.[EMAIL PROTECTED]NSITUniversity of Chicago
