[MLO] Re: Importing nested tasks (that is, with an indent level) and notes from a text file

2014-10-06 Thread Stéph
Hello Dwight. If that won't import notes, then it won't be any more functional
than Task - Advanced - Paste text as subtasks menu options. Mind you, there is
an option to set MLO to put anything more than 'x' characters into the note
field when parsing something pasted into the RTE input box - that may help.

I don't think there is a quick way to import tasks with their notes. I've
asked Andrey to consider Markdown or OPML import on the iPad, to bring items in
from mind maps created in iThoughts or other apps. If there are enough votes
for it, perhaps he'll improve task import.

The other hope is that we'll find an MLO user who knows how to write XSLT
templates for converting items to and from MLO.

[MLO] MLO 2 on iOS crashes all the time if i touch sync button (Wifi-Sync)

2014-10-06 Thread Stéph
Hello Alex,

This isn't happening for me, so You'll need to work step-by-step to see where
the problem is.

You could start by creating a small test file and check whether that syncs.
That will then discount a corruption in your Outline file.

If it still crashes (on which device?) you may have to reinstall MLO.

If a different outline file doesn't crash, I would suggest either
(1) sending your outline file to the MLO team to see whether they can pinpoint
the corrupted task, or
(2) try copying a beach at a time over to your new, test outline to see if you
can pinpoint the corruption yourself.

Good luck!

Stéphane

[MLO] One Mobile App View I Would Love to See ... MLO vs WL

2014-10-06 Thread TahirXJO
I recently flirted with Wunderlist for various reasons and I returned to
MLO within a week.

However the one really small but (for me) really great feature was their
Starred View.

So in WL you choose Starred and it shows you all your starred tasks
categorised by context.

I loved that. It means I'm not jumping into the menu and choosing the
filters all the times.

That on it's own would make me so much more productive and on task during
the day. Just a quick starred view and I know where I am in the rush of
the day.

To go one step further, the ideal might be this: Let the user choose the
the view using the existing context filters (which are great). Then the
user gets to save that view to the home menu. I guess this would involve
making the home page a bit more editable, i.e. letting the user choose what
appears on the start menu.

If I missing something and anyone has found a way of doing something
similar, please let me know.

Thanks,

[MLO] Re: iPhone: Beta testers for custom views

2014-10-06 Thread TahirXJO
Oooo, just realised this is something I would like to see on Android.

Specifically a Starred by Context view. That would be so useful.

What happened to this and is it coming to Android?
Thanks

 Hi there,

Do the ones that already belong to the iOS beta testing need to apply for
 this too?

 Thanks

[MLO] Re: Is there a way to import indented tasks with notes

2014-10-06 Thread Mark
Hi, not sure about the notes, but have you tried the Rapid Task Entry
dialog? That should handle the hierarchy for you.

I know that there is a cut off after a certain number of characters, and
the then the rest ends up in the notes - but i am not sure at what point
that is...

 Hi,

I have a file exported from ListPro that has indent level information
(it's a tab-delimited text file and the indent level is an integer in the
first field). It also has notes (in a third field).

Is there a way to import this into MLO so tasks are properly indented and
 with the correct notes?

 Thanks,

 Rodrigo
