2022-01-20 Thread Chad McFall
Alyona, this is on Android. I can reproduce the new task in problem. I
can record a video if necessary.

Richard, on Android there doesn't appear to be a "replace contexts for all
subtasks" when holding down on an item - equivalent to a right-click.

[MLO] Re: Any plan to release Mac version through Catalina / Project Catalyst?

2022-01-20 Thread John Burry
I would add that wine/crossover do not work well with MLO. They work, but
not well. For example, when editing a task title, inline, the full task
title is not visible. For some reason, A task title of "Hello This is A
Task Title" ends up becomeing "ello This is" when editing. It's just a
weird text-box/display issue, you can cursor left to the front of the line
to see "Hello..." and cursor right to get to the end of the full title. But
this causes a very annoying break in what should be a smooth workflow in an
otherwise awesome task manager. This is one example of this type of display
issue with the emulation. MLO on native Windows is flawless - but quite
flawed on Wine/Crossover emulation to the point where I had to walk away
from using it on MacOS.

RE: [MLO] Re: Context inheritance

2022-01-20 Thread Richard Collings
I haven’t read the whole thread so I am not sure whether this solves your
problem but if you right click on the folder and select Advanced, you get two
options

Add contexts to all subtasks
Replace contexts for all subtasks.

Does this solve your problem?

Richard

Yes, only new subtasks can inherit contexts of a parent task.

If you want to change contexts for all or some tasks in the branch, try
Multiselect. But in that case all old context(s) will be overwritten by the new
one.

I couldn't reproduce it. If you click "+" and select a destination folder in
"New Task In", the task will inherit the folder's context.

[MLO] Adding tasks from widget doesn't save last folder.

2022-01-20 Thread Chad McFall
I have two widgets on my screen:

1: Shopping - list filtered by the context "shopping" applied by the
shopping folder.
2: Inbox - general tasks

Both widgets have a [+] to add tasks but the + defaults always to
which makes it cumbersome to always have to select the shopping folder on
my shopping list. It seems like each widget could probably remember the
last folder selected.

This change could benefit many different configurations - provided the
other issue with contexts not being applied to tasks added to folders
through a widget is resolved.

[MLO] Re: Context inheritance

2022-01-20 Thread Chad McFall
I believe context inheritance is intended to work one way but there are a
few vectors that were missed:

Adding tasks to a folder through a widget does not cause a task to inherit
contexts attached to the destination folder.

Changing contexts attached to a folder does not update child tasks to that
folder unless they are moved out of the folder and back in.
