Re: [MLO] error on cloud sync

2022-07-05 Thread Dwight Arthur

That's a pretty weird place to get an error.

I believe that you said you are already using cloud synch between two
mobile devices, is that right,? I feel silly even suggesting this but are
you certain that you copied the email address and password over correctly,
with no typos? And are you certain that your cloud subscription has not
expired? When you try synching on your mobile devices?

Hi Dwight, Thanks for your help!
I think I have a regular Windows version. It runs on Crossover that makes
it possible to use windows programs on apples. I don't know what WINE is
and if I use it...
Although I haven't tried much because I have no content (yet, no sync...)
MLO seems to work well in all other aspects.

I had a trial version first that worked well and also synced well. It
expired and I uninstalled it before I bought the pro version.

I go to synchronization in the top, configuration, MLO cloud, sync to cloud
and then enter email and password, Connect.

That's when I get the error...
I hope this is useful information...

Could you just confirm some thing for me? When you say "windows" you are
referring to the windows version of MLO running on a Macintosh, using WINE
which sounds like it is a Windows emulation environment. And this
installation of MLO on Macintosh appears to be working other than an
inability to access cloud synch. Is all of that correct?

Also, please be more specific about how you arrive at this invalid pointer.
I presume you are going to synchronization>general>symchToMloCloud>setup
connection is that right? Do you have "use secure" checked? Do you have
”use a proxy” checked?

When you click "ok" in the cloud connection window, is that when you get
the pointer error? If there are more steps before the error, what are they?

Hi.

I’m saying this because indeed there are softwares that never seem to work
correctly syncing (haha I just uninstalled one yesterday!). MLO isn’t one
of those; it works fine.

I’d send a copy of your original email to sup...@mlo.com (from memory).

Subject: [MLO] error on cloud sync

Hello! I am using MLO with great joy on android phone and iPad. A few days
ago I decided to go full in and also bought the windows version (and
crossover for Mac) Quite an investment..

I also have a cloud sync subscription, syncing well between iPad and android.
When I log in on the windows version to sync I get the error:
could not login to server. Server response: "Invalid pointer operation"

I tried resetting password, uninstalling and reinstalling.
I sent an email to MLO support and they answered this:
Starting out with a clean, WINEARCH=win32 wine prefix.
Using winetricks to install the following packages: msxml3, msxml4, msxml6,
   riched20, wininet, xmllite, urlmon

Setting the OS version in winecfg to "Windows XP" ("Windows 7" did not work).
Unfortunately, there is nothing more we can do.

this sounds like abracadabra to me.

one thing that comes to mind now is that I bought MLO4x with might be
different from MLO?

Anyone that can help me? thanks!
