[MLO] How does MLO Sync really work?
I use MLO on pc and on Android Devices. I doubt that the sync feature really works seamlessly in the background. If so in what intervals MLO gets synced automatically? It looks like i always have to start manually the synchronization on the pc with F12 and on the android devices by pressing the cloud symbol. I have Auto-Sync and Push on but i guess it doesn´t work. I found it very disappointing that although you pay a lot of money for the sync-feature it doesn´t work like a modern synchronisation should work. Fast and automatically. Re: [MLO] Re: How to? Multiple instances
I know this second outline window. But for instance how do i compare the notes of two tasks? How do i see those two notes at the same time? Is that possible somehow? I don´t get why there exists this kind of featureless second window at all. Why not have 2 or more real instances of the same .mlo file. I am sure lots of users would appreciate that. Another idea would be the option to tile the task list (including notes) which could be than scrolled independently. Maybe this is easier to implement. Thank you! Dwight schrieb am Dienstag, 9. [MLO] Re: Best Practice MLO concerning new feature Google Calendar Sync
I don´t see my wish as a kind of illogical inconsistence like Steph see´s it. Actually i found it more logical that tasks without a startdate would not be sorted. Maybe this feature can be supported in the future. That would be great. Sorry but any advice to put in a startdate/time is way to slow for me. Appointments are fixed. But the tasks around i arrange via ALT + SHIFT + Cursor Up/Down. Please keep in mind that all appointments synced with google calendar appearing in the inbox already appear in the right order (the later, the lower) even without Sorting enabled. The problem is that every new appointment appear at the end. Those new ones have to be sorted manually. Also a very important future would be to have different sortoptions in different folders. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group. [MLO] Best Practice MLO concerning new feature Google Calendar Sync
The functionality of MLO enables it to use it it in many ways. And i know that users use it entirely differently. I myself use it differently compared to the first weeks. I like to have my appointments (calendar) in a list and place tasks around them. With the new Google Calendar Sync - Options this now becomes even easier. But there is a problem. I would like to place tasks without a startdate in a list which is sorted chronological (by startdate). Is it somehow possible to arrange tasks without a startdate freely in a list sorted by startdate. I guess that would make sense and would allow users to use one list for appointments and tasks. But not if a have to switch continuesly between two modes ( Preview/Edit) Who has time for that? Who wants to learn a cryptic code for formatting text? Who wants to see strange ***### symbols in his text while working with it? And who does not want sometimes copy text from the notes to another application. This is now not possible anymore. Now you have to delete all the Markdown code symbols before or after copying. This is so weird. If only i could copy the formatted text of the preview. But even that is impossible. Markdown like HTML is a publishing code where focus is to achieve a certain look with few effort. I don´t wanna sound rude here but the implemenation of the long awaited formatting feature in this way makes me sometimes wonder if Andrey is using MLO himself. I tried intensively to integrate Markdown im my workflow but in the end it was just a waste of time. My conclusion is that nobody will use this feature. Maybe for a few tasks where you store information for reference purposes. But never for alive tasks where you have to updating the notes on a constant basis. What is so difficult? Why not integrate a tiny RTF Editor with some keycommands like • CTRL B, U, I for Bold, Underscore, Italic • The ability to change font, fontsize and colour • lists and numerations • ability to indent This makes me sleepless. Andrey, this is a tiny update. Not much has changed and you charge quite a lot for it. MLO 4 will not be supported anymore. So MLO Users have no choice. Please, please come up with a working, useable concept for text formatting. I could support you in doing so. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group. [MLO] Re: MyLifeOrganized 5 public beta is out!
The ability to format text was one of the most wanted features since the beginning of MLO. Now MLO 5 offers (kind of) this long awaited future. But i don´t get it. Learning kind of HTML to format text? Really? Markdown was designed to write for the web. Why should you use it in a taskmanager? *Here my first impression, questions:* - You have constantly to switch from Edit View to Preview. Who want´s that? - How do i change the textsize in Preview? It´s much to small on my high DPI monitors - Can i use charts and colour? - Can i import formatted text? - Which Markdown commands are supported? Where is the documentation? - How do i copy formatted text to use in another application? - How do i copy text to use in another application at all? Shoud i manually delete all markdown code? - How can in change the background colour. It looks like what ever you set in themes has no effect, right? Am i the only one who thinks that this was the most cumbersome way possible to integrate text formatting options in MLO? A simple editor like the one here to write this post would habe been useful but this is a major disapointment. Sorry i can´t share the euphoria. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MyLifeOrganized" group. [MLO] How to "catch up" (skip occurences) in v2.0 for Android
I am unable to find the "catch up" feature. By that I mean that when recurring tasks are out of date (have not been completed for some time), how do I catch up (or as in the desktop version, "skip occurrence")? [MLO] Re: No Mac version? At a loss.
I agree, a Mac version seems strangely missing from the picture here, especially as there's an iPad version. I'm as surprised that there isn't a browser-based version. [MLO] Re: i want location based reminder
FYI, You can also use network based location. It has enough precision (in the United States) to get witin 20-30 meters which might be useful to most people. MLO just has to be developed to use the course as well as fine position.I also use the ID of cell towers to automatically determine my location. If a location has WiFi with an SSID you can use that as well.I use amAndroid app called Tasker to automatically enable and disable battery hogs like 4G based on my location without ever using GPS. My vote would be to enable MLO to use a variety of location determination methods. This would let the user pick the method that works for them. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MyLifeOrganized group. [MLO] Re: Suggestion: Adding some more commandline switches
If I might add a commandline switch to suppress any message box pop ups. This would allow MLO to operate in the background without bothering users. A possible use case would be keep the synchronization warnings suppressed when syncing using task scheduler. Currently a message box will occasionally pop up when my automated sync task fires every couple hours warning of task over writes. If I'm at the computer this is fine. But when my wife is at the computer it can drive her nuts. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MyLifeOrganized group.
