Does MLO have a file import that is compatible with Freemind export?
It does with Mindjet, but not Xmind...

While we're talking about import/export, I would like to be able to import 
from Freemind. OPML format would be a great way to import and export 
branches and their notes, between MLO and mind-mapping / other software.

Better still would be the option to import from iThoughtsHD on the iPad.
