resetting a password
hello, following the instructions for resetting a password ( http://www.mysql.com/doc/R/e/Resetting_permissions.html ), i was not able to find the .pid file. is it possible to continue the process without killing it? what would be the command to restart the daemon using the --skip-grant-tables option? i wasn't able to figure it out. any help would be appreciated ... thx jeremy - Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] Trouble unsubscribing? admin privilege problems
hello, i made the mistake of changing my root password manually in the mysql database. after doing so, i 'flushed privileges'. now i'm unable to log on using the root. i've tried to log on using the new password a number of times, but i'm always denied access. strangely enough, other users (that have passwords) can log on successfully without providing a password. does anybody have any recommendations for logging on as the root user ... and fixing this privileges problem? version 3.23.46 thx jeremy - Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] Trouble unsubscribing?
