Sorry people, I' ve some bad problems to run mysql with the Java JDBC ODBC Bridge Driver under Win89. Perhaps only a question of syntax, perhaps an internal Error, perhaps... I tried out lots of possibilities, but in the end the error of finding a nonexistant database was the closest thing of success, that is: it accepted the myodbc.dll but refused a connection because not finding the database I described.
